I got a plant outside I am assumming the wind broke it it is the tallest on the plant about 3 feet it is at the bottom of the stem one of the first that came out after fimming it it is still attached with the bottom part of the skin and some of what bend instead of snapping I have stood it back up with a stick and am wondering if this is something can be saved , and how also am wondering what measures work best to prevent this any ideas. or should I just remove it, so the plant don't stress anymore trying to mend itself help I fell lost.:holysheep:

I have used bandaids literally or tape to hold them back together and usually the mend. They will need support along with the tape.

thanks Rosebud I am gonna try and see what happens any suggestions for a method on how to prevent

Stake any and all big/main branches especially if the strain isn't a very stemy plant...I like to create ties connecting all of these branches somewhat resembling a Spiderweb underneath with some twine(so when the wind blows the whole plant will sway)(and stake)tie a bigger loop than the branch when it's done(not to constrict the stems) hope this helps I'll get a pic of wat I mean

stakes thts wht gives them a lot of support..i dnt even tie them up I just use plenty of stakes..but if u do tie them give them plenty of room 2 grow ..tape tht branch back on in the place it broke and it should mend itself like rose said..

i have not used it in years but floral tape it;s green any one use that at all worth a try imo if it a big branch this stuff is used with fake flower work alot find it at craft store cheap or the bandaid as mentioned or electrical tape i use that on fingers all the time :)

also spend time training them when they little little bends back and for the go along way as they grow they get much stronger also lst tie em all down is good way to strengthen tomato cages cut open down one side so you can open it put around plant and close it around it nice and gental that works good if they just stay where they are all day

it will grow back if supported and bound...you'll also notice a "knuckle" at the mend point...green mojo!!!

ya i have snapped stalks in half bending and it lived as well as having after topped one split the stalk right down the center 2 or 3 times still gave bud things are pretty unkillable after a point ;)

I did tape the branch back on placed a steak and a loose string around the both of them enough to sway a few inches each way . thanks for all the encouragement

i tried the spider web tech., worked somewhat.
i like much better; (4) 8 ft. tall, 1 in. dia. plastic garden stakes at home depot.
stake these at 4 corners of plant. locate stakes 1/3 of the way in from drip line, toward stalk.
get 1 in. green plastic garden tape, home depot.
tie stake to stake at all 4 corners, all around.
once at 2 ft., 4 ft., 6 ft. etc.
make a flexible cage at diff. heights. i had 0 breakage w/ this method. grew some monster plants. jmo goodluck.:)
