so when it comes to figuring lumens per watt im having a hard time when its not labeled on the box.according to this website im having trouble figuring when its suppose to help you.
hxxp://www.ndlight.com.au/lamp_efficency.htm

so when you read on the hps part it says 90 to 125 lumens per watt.well the question is which i do i measure mine with.do i go 90x70 or the prefered 125x70?all comments appreciated.much thanks.oh by the way i found a 70 watt hps at lowes which is much cheaper then the 70 watt at home depot for 60 dollars.but once again thanks.

EDIT:i guess i should tell everyone the price of the one at lowes eh? haha.it was 35$

your buying your lights from that website? or your just looking for a guideline as to what to expect (lumens//watt) when buying a HPS? im confused

i dont understand the confusion....if you look at the link youll see what it is...its a damn chart showing how many lumens per watt from each light listed.what i want to know is where it says 90 to 125 lumens per watt for hps how do i measure mine to it???do i say 90 lumens x 70 watts = 6300 lumens or what i would like it to add up to is 125 lumens x 70 watts = 8750.im trying to figure out which equation i would use to count my lumens since it doesnt say so on the giant box i purchased with the light.

Settle down bud, i did look at the link.. Your asking if you can use the figures given on that website to determine the lumen output of your light, which isnt made by that company. No. Your output will be determined by what type of bulb and ballast you have. So if you have neither a bulb nor a ballast made by ndlight or whatever, all your going to get is a general estimate. For example: i have a couple of those 150w 20$ HPS which advertise 16,500 lumens each at maxlife (110 lumens/watt), and I also have a 600w digital HPS with a special growbulb, advertised at 95,000 @ maxlife (158 lumens/watt).

no doubt, then thats all i needed to know thanks.well of course now i have to find out by my manufacture n such.but on the chill out note...i was never ill....i think people should read my name before they read my post :p
hence NONEED for alarm :)
