600 watts worth it?

i understand that going from a 400 watt to a six hunded watt is better than going from a 400 watt to a 1000 watt when efficiency comes into play....but i have a cabinet thats about 3x2x6'. i use 3 computer fans for intake and exzaust, then i use a 465 cfm squirell cage fan to pull through a cooltube i built myself. now...i am buying a new ballast thats is remote comapred to my 400 watt magnetic one. i use a 400 watt magnetic one in there now adequatly, but do you think i could make the 600 watt stay cool enought for this cab?

another question is...i buy eye hortilux hps 400 watt bulbs, they are very small in diameter and fit into a bake a round cool tube....is the 600 watt eye hortilux larger in diameter? thanks ...Loola

You have 6 sqsft.. more then enough .. i would stick with a 400w if your talking about efficency.... that hortilux bulb is what 55000 lumens.. 9166 lumes per sqft that puts you to.. way more then enough lumens...... why go to a 600???? your just under 10K lumens per sqft with the 400w??
600w will give you way more light yes.. more heat yes.. cost more to run yes.. for what an extra once or 2??? hmmmmmmmmmmmm

i understand, but i may get out of the cabinet soon, and run the closet itself. its about 6x6 footprint.....thats why i am considering the 600.

i would make it 6x4, or even 5x4

600w and 400w are like nite and day,

I veg with 400w and flower with 600w and works great.
you will love your 600w

im gonna sound crazy, but im gonna try going vertical with 2 250w flouro's hung vertical with chicken wire around them, Im shooting for 400g dry after the math ive done. Ive seen 8 ounce yields from a 250w light done in a similar way.

Ive been a big fan of 1000w'ers. Lumens are lumens and they put out more than 600's.

but, in all other regards, consumption, heat output and size, the 600w wins.

lumen output for its size is optimal and is much more effective than a 1000w.

I would say stay with the 400 and try a vertical grow. Im getting the build together now, i just finished my veg cab.
