250w HPS

Ok guys this is my first grow and i am growing in a small closet. now i just got my 250w HPS light cuz my girls are ready to flower. but my local hydo shop didnt have the cord for the hood so now im waiting for the cord to come in. but i was thinking that this hood is probly not goin to plug into a normal outet. Ok so that i can get a better idea of what to expect i have a few questions! What am i going to have to plug the light into? or how am i going to bring power for this light into my closet? How many volts is this light gong to take?

No expert here, but shouldn't the light have come with a ballast? The ballast is what plugs into a 3 pronged outlet I believe. So hood to ballast, ballast to outlet.

ok i have the light bulb and the ballast but i dont have the cord that gose to the ballast when i got it at the hydro shop they didnt have the cords that was suposed to come with it. now i know that the ballast is not going to plug into a normal outlet.

Are you in the US? If so, there is no reason your unit should not plug into a standard 120v outlet. You do not need any special power requirements for a 250 watt bulb.

I've never seen a ballast that didn't plug into a standard three pronged outlet, (in the USA).

The ballast is just a type of transformer that changes the regular household current into what the light needs. The electrical supply to the ballast is nothing more than the same type of plug your TV has on it.
