My wife is unconcerned with the pita part of owning a pool. She is confident she can get her husband to do all the cleaning and maintenance, even if he rarely gets in the water himself <sigh>

If the mosquitoes were smart and flew away, I probably would have chased them. Fortunately, they had never seen a shop vac before and came over to check it out. BTW, it also works with ground bees. Just leave the hose near the entrance and plug it in : )

I discovered mosquito larva in my nutrient reservoir this morning. I wouldn't have noticed, but there were about 50 mosquitoes flying around when I walked in. I'm going to chop GOG plant this weekend, so the larvae can stay for now. My shop vac took care of the adults flying around pretty quick...

Time to chop the SF. Ten day forecast here is for rain just about every day but tomorrow. Seems unlikely any additional growth could trump the damage bud rot will do if I leave it out there. It's a pretty small plant, at least. I can probably have it trimmed and drying in half an hour.

For years after I quit I would get this occasional bottom-of-the-lungs kind of cough in the mornings on the way to work. I would literally cough up ashtray tasting mucus all the way to work. Coughed so hard I would get a headache, and sometimes a bloody nose. Even tore tore a groin muscle once.

There are safer ways to get nicotine - which is not as dangerous as they say. If you must smoke, then consider growing your own tobacco instead of inhaling the garbage they put in cigarettes.

I quit smoking more than 30 years ago. It was and still is the hardest thing I ever did, and I still get strong cravings occasionally. I've always said if I get a terminal disease someday, the first thing I'm going to do is start smoking again.
