So, I had it in my head that I was going to process this Presidential OG on Friday of this week. I’m seeing a good bit of trichomes tending to amber, but not getting there just yet. Y’all think she’ll be good by Friday.

Let me get ahead of @bigsur51. You said about a week an a half ago “two moar weeks,” so don’t you add any jewels to my crown by saying “two more weeks” again. I’m also already flushing, so don’t mention CalMag either.

I don’t want to cut a plant too early, but I’m a bit worried at this point as all of my plants are now flowering in earnest and I’m not sure how to field the next steps. I have a bad light, so I could put a few of them (it’s not big enough for all four) under that each day and wait this thing out, or just let them get wet and put them under a fan at night.

I’m thinking to put the big ones in full flower under the light and put the other two under an umbrella outdoors and hope for the best. Thoughts?

10 days of rain is rough. I had a similar thing maybe 10 years ago. I thought putting the plants under a portable canopy but the humidity screwed me and bud rot ensued. I think your plan is good as hippie said. Maybe use the fan under the umbrella too? I think someone on here suggested using a leaf blower to dry the plants off at one point. Not sure how that worked out though.

The weed will be good on the Presidential, so no problems there. I’ll chop the Presidential Wednesday morning and keep the skunk under the bad light, and I rigged up some “hillbilly stuff” with a tent rain tarp for a simple solve for the two plants in the early stages of budding. They can get a little wet, and with the fan at night in the office, they should be fine.

Problem solved?

Will keep you all posted. What a debacle.

The way I look at it, you are at 73 days today, on the Presidential OG, at least. I would chop them suckers at the onset of the big rainstorm you have headed your way, and call it good.
The skunk needs more time, somehow. It has a really short “flowering time” so it’ll just have to hang in there and the moment the trichomes cloud up, I’ll chop it.

The other plants should make it to the other side of this, then they’ll see their final days in the brutality of VA summer “dog days.” Alas.

nothing like growing your own weed

all the trials and tribulations only make the experience better

A brief note on the skunk:

Looking impressive! But, don’t fall asleep on PWM folks. I had to trim a few buds off the other day, and while it made me sad, I don’t count buds until they’re harvested anyway. I’ve learned with chicken that you don’t “count the eggs before they hatch.”

After seriously defoliating, I sprayed it down with a 1 part milk and 2 parts water mixture and that finally tamped it down. I saw a mealy bug leaving tracks on some leaves, so I didn’t think it was PWM, until it was. Alas.

I hate having it under the bad light for so long, but the weather here is still not looking promising, so it’ll sit for another week or so there before the chop. The trichomes are about 70-80% cloudy, so I think she’ll be good for next week.

The second Presidential OG got a milk/water treatment this morning and some defoliation, and it’s looking ok. I’ll be keeping a close eye on it since the main cola of this plant is going to be a thing of beauty and terror.

The Afghan is humming along! No mildew anywhere in sight. Its fungal resistance is pretty impressive seeing that VA seems to grow mold easier than it grows weed.

Y’all. PWM is bad.

I would say that about 30-40% of the skunk had to be pruned away, so I just gave it the chop this morning after cutting away a lot of PWM. I’ll be monitoring it closely! Is there a way that y’all treat buds after the chop for mildew?
