Which is better polished or painted hood, and would that be a Gloss white paint or flat white paint?
I was thinking about painting my hood so I don't have to polish when there so many scratches from my move and not been in use for for 6 months..
Thanks

In case some one ask this hood is home made out of aircraft alum. for my 1000 watt light it is 4x4 with 12 inch sides flange.

Flat white, but if you can get the scratches out polished is probably best.

I like the flat white painted hoods because if it get scratched up you can repaint it.

Thanks Ozzy !! That what I have thought, scratch it and repaint it, plus it be easier to Keep clean in the long run.. Polishing take a while to get that shine.

You don't want a polished hood unless it has dimples in it to prevent hot spots. Flat white would be much better. You may need to get a special primer for aluminum or the paint may flake or scratch easily.
