I have seen a lot of information on Neem Oil being good for fighting off pests. What is the best method for using it as a preventative to stop future infestations?:watchplant:

I use 1 teaspoon of dish soap and 2 tablespoons of neems per gallon of water and spray when the light first come on.

yeah and continue to aply every few days for EVER!!!!!:giggle: atleast that what it seems

take care and be safe:bolt::bong:

This is my first indoor grow, and I am not sure about plants grown indoors, but my Grandfather taught me how to make an all natural pest control mixture that will rid your garden of all kinds of pests from afids to crows and rats.
You puree three Habareno peppers in a blender and add 2 ounces of vinegar and mix well, add this to one gallon of water and spray your plants. Danger, Use rubber gloves when handeling the mixture, but do not worry, it will not harm your plants.

I like your grandfather. I don't know if your going organic but neem oil does mess up your soil. I don't use it. Lots of my peeps here do and must like it.

That's concerning...:eek: How does it mess up the soil? I think the Azamax that I used caused my ph to get way off, but I haven't heard of any probs with the Neem oil.
I definitely like the idea of using the Haberneros in a spray, How often would yu use that?:)

I use a mixture simmilar to this in a high powered kids water gun, i have a lot of squirrels and i hate them, i dont wanna kill them, just keep them away from my gardens, mainly veggies, i sit back and relax and have a little target practice, it works . LOL

That sounds like a riot:rofl: burn a fatty and go launch an assault on marauding squirels with a killer watergun:D Idon't have any squirrel issues but I would do that if I did.

I don't use it because the beneficial nematodes and other beneficials are suffocated by the oil. But that is just me. It takes a long time to get your soil where you want it as far as living organisms and i don't want to mess with their environment. Like I said, this is just me. I am happy when people get rid of the borg any way it takes.

I really dislike neem oil and do not believe that it is very effective. I cannot help but think that the oily residue affects the plant's ability to "breathe". I do not really believe that there is a preventative for mites.

I don't think it matters how often you use it, My father used it every morning for almost two months a few years ago to keep the grass hoppers away. They were really bad and ate everything in site except for his garden.

I did have a squirrel problem but I don't any more. They were tasty UMMMM
