Hey all,

I'm looking for a material that I can hopefully put between my fans and where they are mounted. Its more of a security issue then anything else. Thanks for any sugestions.

Ps. One fan is a Vortex that is mounted via a 6" metal bracket with 2 drywall screws and resting on a wooden shelf. The other two fans are just 10" fans that hang on drywall screws. Maybe I can do something with my ballast as well.

most people hang their fans with bungee cords or mount them with thick high density weather stripping. Both things almost eliminate noise from vibrations. The bungees work best though.

Yea i seen that they use thick rubber o rings.. to hang and it takes all vibrations out... you can also try to minimize them by using dynamat.. similar to what they would use in a car stereo system..

bungee cords worked out perfectly. I'm going to try the weather stripping on the oscilating fans.
