I understand the importance of ventilation, but on the inlet side of a closet set-up, I'm curious how you go about allowing enough air in while still keeping the light out.

thanks,

Drill a hole for piping, stick the piping in the hole, stick a fan in the piping... Set! :)

I have this intake hole in the bottom of my door and need to cover it to prevent light leaks. A light proof vent cover is more than im willing to spend. What can i place over the fan to block the light without restricting airflow?

Use a black 3 or 4" ABS 90 degree elbow (you might need 2). The kind plumbers use to plumb drains. If you cannot find black ABS, you can use white PVC and paint it black so no light gets in. You can find these at Lowe's or HD

Build a box around it. This is the panal that closes up my Flower Box at night. See the vent,,I built a box that lets air in and keeps light out. In the 1st pic,,if ya look to the right you will see another vent in my closet door down at the bottom. I can close my closet doors and you cant see nothing. But I still have a 170 CFM fan pulling air into my closet thru the vents in the closet doors and thru the growspace and exhausted back out thru the roof. No heat problems using my Floras.
