Not on island but near there and we had frost this am so it's still a little to early I think.

Wait till there is no more frost and they will have much larger chance of survival

welcome to MP, frank.
nice to see another islander :)

personally, i wait for the nights to warm up a little bit more. there's no set date.. and every season is a debate with myself if it's too early ;)

the daytime temps are fine currently.. but the nights are still a bit cold. should be soon though, they're starting to rise.
i have a small group in pots already in the greenhouse.. but they don't look real happy in the mornings. ;)

too cold for anything to go right into the ground now i would think. (waiting a few weeks on my tomato's and stuff)
i'll probably start more seeds myself shortly, but i'll keep em indoors for a few weeks.

i'd suggest you wait a few more weeks, unless you can combat the night cold somehow.

curious; are you growing from seed, or have clones?
makes a difference; clones no worries, you got till june, really.
seeds it's always nice to get the jump on, seeing as that first month is slow progress ;) you could start germing some seedlings now, but you'd likely have to keep em indoors or atleast bring em in overnight.

not knowing your situation, i'll say may would likely be a safer bet ;)
good luck
:)

I live in Seattle area and I put my girls in the ground May 3rd. I wanted to wait for a stretch when there wasn't any morning frost. I have a tent that I made out of PVC pipe and clear plastic that I can cover things up if it looks like a cold stretch is coming.

plant them now:lama:

Happy Growing
