i have used chicken, and or cow manure with good success.
i put it in the bottom of the hole and then cover it with some good soil. this keeps it from burning the roots.

yeah?

I got a huge composted pile of chicken poo thats gonna get thrown in my buckets this spring

I just suggest using reasonable caution, chicken manure is 'extremely' hot, high in nitrogen. It should be well composted AND used in proper proportions in your soil mix.
