Best weed I ever smoked up to today was that Jamaican Redroot Kali. I still dream of that stuff. Had some of Hopper's brick weed from Mechochan that would lay yer ears back, too.

I remember the first stuff that came outta SoCal. It was the old sea of green stuff. Every bud looked the same and like it had just came out of a High Times cover. Twice the price of what the weed market was. Looked beautiful. We called it "Kalifornia no-high". Smoke two joints and wondered if you were buzzed.
In the late 60's & 70's we mostly got brick weed here. The homegrown that I sampled was not as good as brick weed, but Thai Stick, Panama Red, and Columbian when you could get it was as good as any I've ever had and I've grown Maui Wowie, Alaskan Thunderfuck, Columbian, and Thai without getting the same effects.

Sadly when we keep our CB-1 receptors flooded with phyto-cannabinoids, our bodies start producing less CB-1 receptor sites, because we don't need as many, and we develop tolerance.

I remember the first Thai stick. Came on actual sticks about 7 inches long and .75" around. It was a different kind of buzz than I'd been used to, and I liked it!

Pretty sure our bodies recover their receptor sites given time. I took a ten year hiatus after my daughter was born. At the time, you could be a crack head caught selling drugs with your children in the house and you were fine. Be a productive member of society that got caught with weed, and they'd put your kid in a foster home and mess up your life. It wasn't worth a risk of putting my little girl through it and possibly spending my life in prison for taking out a few SWAT members, so I did the daddy thing and quit. After she was old enough to be emancipated, I started back up. You could toss a pack of Zigzags in my lap and I was high. I can still get high on the third hit. :)

The Thai stick here was tied to a bamboo stave with a length of fiber.

The receptors do grow back and our bodies resume making Endo-cannabinoids once the phyto-cannabinoids go away.

Carty sent me 4 Jamaican strains I think. I will plant those as soon as the autos finish. I am excited for them and the maui Fems.

I could spot the redroot kali seeds in a bucket full of others. The small ones were quite large, and a full half of the ones I came across were easily twice as big as they were. I think they were referred to as diploid or something to that effect. The plants were approximately 2 feet tall and already were sporting 17 leaf clusters. Never saw anything like it. Wouldn't have surprised me if they'd have gone 10' or taller.

We got some during that time that we called elephant ear. Biggest brick weed buds I've ever seen. I peeled around three pounds of the biggest buds outta a bale and triple bagged 'em and off to the freezer they went. Came in handy when Operation Intercept came along. F U, Nixon!

The polyploid strains of that time were created by treating the buds with colchicine. The seeds were diploid but you had to throw away the mother because she was poisonous.

I've heard of that but have never tried it myself. I honestly think these were just a natural mutation.

Got to thinking about all the things I miss from my youth. Youth was the biggest, followed by some of the weed strains, and bell bottomed jeans.

I just saw a triploid advertised.

I still have some bell bottom jeans.

Morning folks, love me some landrace. They getting hard to find now a days. I want what was coming out of Mexico in the early 80's pine tree bud. I have found other pines but the buds are small and that old pine tree had huge buds.
Arkansas was growing some really nice lime green weed that smelled like a pine tree. We called it Arkansas Pine. I was probably 19 or 20 yrs old.
Tasted fking awesome, smelled like fresh pine and the high was bad ass. That was back in the 70s. I have been looking for that smell, taste, and high for years.
