About 3 weeks ago I bought a new TRANE central heater unit!! I planned on replacing the kitchen floor and installing both a new heater and hot water next spring, well my old heater failed night befor last, so i'll be busy till I git er done. got into floor rot under the old washing machine, and water heater, the joices are good, I have to replace some plywood, I;m gonna be busy, decided to give mama some new counters and sink, a new stove too, she doesn't know that yet!! I had already bought the laminate flooring, it was such a good price, this heater is on my list of things I gotta do, last fall I put on a new roof!! This retirement stuff is wearing me out, I've always been a DIY person. But I hate going under the house.

Mice, rats, spiders and snakes all just love it there, it's so fun:rolleyes: crawling with the creppy crawlers.

open two ends of crawl space, and smoke em out first is what i do...nothing like a recluse bite to put things in perspective fast. i know!

have even had a copperhead snuggle up to me once when repairing a burst water line.

theres things under the house man worse than the boogie man...

i see an added honey-do list in your future!:p you just have too much free time on your hands skag. oh oh...man law #42, never volunteer to redecorate during hunting/fishing season! lol...

Skag, do you think maybe she would like to pick out the counter top and stuff? just a thought. Mr rb has his own list for when he retires.. I am glad you have the health to do all your doing..she will love it, i am sure. good going.

LOL--Irish, most crawl spaces do not have 2 ends. I've worked in crawl spaces with spiders, snakes, and skunks. I have to say that in all the hundreds and hundreds of houses I have been underneath, I have never been bit (or sprayed) by anything. Brown recluse spiders are not crawlspace dwellers--they like closets and stored clothing. Black widow spiders will leave you alone if you leave them alone--the same with snakes. I have found skunks only spray when scared. Wear heavy gloves (I once stuck my hand into a cat carcass) and coveralls and have some good strong halogens to light things up and you will be okay. Sorry I am not there to do your crawlin' for you and your wife Skag--it is what I do.

Of course she would like to choose, just add another 0 to the final cost!!!, I took her over to home depot last night, to look at stoves and countertops, I had to do something to keep from falling asleep on the couch, wore me out, yesterday, the old floors are inch and a quarter plywood, I've got lots of help coming over today,my brother offered to fly up and help me, but he's got a couple broken ribs, ya I'm pretty blessed on the health thing, I still climb trees, the cat chased a squrrill and then got stuck, she was so scared,I'm wondering if the scratch marks will scar!! LOL, it's actually kinda weird with me, I like mowing, rakeing, sweeping, vacuming, thats when i plan and think!! Anyway it keeps me in shape, like moving all my pots everyday and every evening to the dark shed and back,,that's good excersise. Hey Rose, The "pick me up" taramisu from safeway was really good, not exactly authentic but delicious, That Gabby Haze makes even canned spinach taste good!! Ya Rosie I'm giving her a choice. everybodys loving that trainwreck, hmmm I'm starting to ramble, I took a little pain relief cocktail this morning, barely got out of bed, gonna go ride my bike over to the latte place, that's what makes me really quit hurting, It's 35 this morning, yesterday was 25. Anyway, she's getting to choose, I was kinda hopeing to see a 38th aniverary!! Gonna go to a little shop around the corner, just went to the home depot for some ideas, it's open late!! I like shopping with the little guys, it bums me out to see what a big box store can do to a small community, I watched Omak, and Okanagan, WA. just die when the big Super Walmart went in, well it's daylight, time to go to work!! man the star head deck screws are so cool compared to the phillips, gotta go swap batteries on the chargers, I don't know how man survived before cordless drivers and stuff, takes alot of frustration out of the work!!

i got mr rb a panasonic drill before I kinda quit work probably 8 years ago.. He loves it. It was the best gift i ever got him. My boss told me to. He had one too, but he is a doctor and could afford the 200 bucks more then I could, but it was worth every dime. He built a shed with it and redid our house..
I have the silestone from homedepot and I love it. It was spendy but it is impervious to everything. Nothing can hurt it. Is impervious a word? Did i use it wrong..that darn satori is making me stupid again...
Have a good day and don't hurt yourself.

I found a dead squrrel yesterday!!,lots of cobwebs, the entire area under my house is covered with plastic sheeting, (the old owners), I've been here 23 years, and haven't figured out why, I guess he hated crawling in the dirt, I filled my crawlspace with dirt and planted a chemdog in it, its in the greento!! We're gonna pull it out today, I'll take pictures of the rootball. I've been getting under the house through the missing kitchen floor, gonna have to use the crawlspace today, lol

The silestone is so much easier to maintain then granite. I went with really cheap floors so i could get it. It is consumer reports first choice. We did our kitchen 5 years ago and it looks brand new. Tell her to get it.!

Great job, Skagit, wish I were so talented!!

This floorings like putting together a jig saw puzzle. same piece over and over, anybody can do it, if they can read. bought a new Acrylic sink today, It's a creme color called Bisquet, and she getting a labrador granite colored counter, gonna look nice. I got a new 12 inch slideing compound miter saw for xmas.I'm so spoiled and with my router I'm gonna start makeing my own trim, From expierience it wont be as perfect as factory stuff, but you won't notice, it's a cost thing.

recluses are under my trailor. i guarantee. i burn wood for heat, and it attracts them too, the stacked wood. i got bit on the top of my head once, and it was an 18 month process trying to find a cure while it kept eating away flesh. i guess not many dr's know the cure for a recluse bite...

skag, if your digi furnace ever quits, check the batteries in the thermostat first before calling in a pro. lol. my elderly neighbor paid a 50 dollar service call yesterday just to find out her batteries were dead.

those floors look great. nice job...:D
