Stoney Bud said:you can take a single cutting from it and flower it with a 10/14 lighting schedule with the light being on for 10 hours each day. This will cause rapid flowering on the cutting in about 7 days.
It's better to use as many hours of light as possible when flowering, but when sexing a plant, a sure way to initiate flowering is to do so at a 10/14 schedule. Some strains will resist flowering on a longer light cycle and this will delay the sexing of the plant.Rocker420 said:Question: How does the 10/14 cause rapid flowering? Can you flower a full plant with that schedual or would it screw it up?..Sorry if this is a stupid question but iv never heard of using 10/14
Stoney Bud said:The only real way to tell sex is to let the plant mature first. This is when it starts growing alternating nodes. Once the plant is mature, you can take a single cutting from it and flower it with a 10/14 lighting schedule with the light being on for 10 hours each day. This will cause rapid flowering on the cutting in about 7 days.
Some strains develop "preflowers" that you can see and tell sex. This is also after the plant matures. There is no reliable method to tell sex prior to the plant maturing. Most strains mature at about 6 to 8 weeks old.
Good luck to you man!
