Will an area that is 10x12x8 feet, stay cool enough to have a GROW with the following conditions: 400w lamp, in a yieldmaster sealed hood, 6 inch duct and 440 cfm can fan thats vents outside the room. The ballast will be in the closet.

Is the 440 cfm for the light or room itself? Used for the room it should work fine gathered the intake-air is cool enough.

Are you going to section off a piece of the room for your growroom? That's a LOT of square footage... A 400 watt won't cover much space.. You want to shoot for at least 50 watts per square foot so a 400 watt will cover 8 square feet adequately.. Just my thoughts. Take care and be safe.

yes a three by three area that is open on top, and 3 feet tall relective board installed on the sides. my plan is to have that open top set up in the mentioned room. so the room would have cool air supplied off the central a/c, and the rooms return will ensure air flow is happening. the question is, will the mentioned can fan keep the lamp cool enough so that the central a/c can cool the room. An oscillating fan will also be generating airflow circulation.

The fan will keep your light cool for sure. I've noticed allot of hoods that are not sealed well at the seams so you may want to tape it up good for effeciency.

Depends on your room temp before lighting it up. Depends on your central AC setting. Depends on your central AC venting into the room.

My advice: don't wait--like me and so many others did first grow--until you've germinated or brought in clones to test your set-up and evaluate your equipment. You'll be wrong every time and your plants will be the victims of your mistake.

Fire up your set-up, tweek, read results, tweek, read results, tweek. I'm on my 3rd grow and I'm still tweeking. I mean tweeking my set-up, not, you know, the other tweeking, the Sublime tweeking.;)

pencilheads on target again:) 400 watts is not enough for that big of room.

that fan will cool two 600 watts if you wanted it too.

i have the same size fan on a 600 cool tube and i can run it a half power and still touch the cool tube with my hand.
