Hi everyone Im 20 years old, a medicinal patient and live In california Bay Area. I use to grow with my bro until he moved, so now im starting to grow solo. I know the basics but still consider myself an amateur. So im looking forward to learning much much more of others threads as well as my own. Glad to be here.

Thanks king. But im am a bit confused on the ' searching' Im trying to search for what distance i should have from the bulbs to the plants, and everytime I click 'Search' my introduction thread pops up??? How do I type in keywords to search for?? Thanks. Also forgive me for being blind, but where are the rules and regulations? The closet thing Iv seen is "Amouncements"

Search function might be acting up still...let me try and answer your question...you want your plants far enough away from the light so that the back of your hand is warm but not hot. This does not apply to small seedlings though...I usually keep them under cfl's till they get at least one full set of true leaves and then transfer them under my HPS or MH light...very young seedlings can't handle HID lighting very well...

thanks for the info hamster. So just to be sure, for a son agro HPS 430 watt, how many inches you think I should have it from the top of the plant? Cause my stupid self might do the hand trick and still be to far or to close...An educated guess of a specific measurement would be great if possible. And I appriciate you takin the time to answer this on my intro thread. Also, thanks gone2pot, and your right I love the helpful quick responses.:aok: :bong1:

Rules: at the very top (but right below the banner for attitude, or TGA subcool) you'll see where it says welcome EsC420PoT you last visited...blah blah blah. well right below that you will see a tool bar that has user cp, member list, gallery, etc...the rules are in this little tool bar.

As for your light if it isn't an aircooled hood you will probably need to hang it between 12 and 18" if it is air cooled you could probably get it down to 8-10" But you will want to place your hand at the tops of your plants for a minute to make sure that it isn't getting too hot.

Ah perfect! Thanks very much legalize! And thanks for the welcome. But, I think my tool bar is diff or something... all I see is user cp, members, gallery, resources, arcade, search, new posts, marked forum, open buddy list, log out.... I dont see anything bout rules... Sorry I feel blind.

lol ya that is weird. thanks the linked worked. Also whats up with the 'search' and 'new posts'?? when ever I click either ine it says ' sorry no matched - try a different term'??? But yet it doesn't give me the option to type anything, that msg just keeps poping up....

I've never had any luck with the search here...I have heard others complain about it to. I've only been on a computer for a few months so I'm learning all this high tech stuff, so I don't understand most of it anyway...lol..my 16 yr old finally talked me into stepping into the 21st century...I didn't have a comp, cell phone or cable TV up until a few months ago...call me old fashioned I guess, I am glad I finally got on the puter though...the cell phone I could do with out...lol...still the same people that get my home phone answering machine, now get my voice mail, cause I don't want to talk to them. I guess it is nice to check in on my hellion though.

Wow i dunno how you survived!! I gotta have all of thoughs things or I go crazy!! Glad you got into it. youll get the hang of it pritty fast, it's easy. Oh and the searching and newposts are workin again I guess it's just a forum issue.
