Southern California in june

Hello I and my 14yr old daughter are road tripping to the LA area this coming June. She is on a fastpitch team playing in a tournament. We are going to use a tent instead of hotel got a tight budget as these team fees are through the roof. Anyone have any ideas regarding camping in the area or can offer a back yard for a couple days. I'll have jar or two to share. Any advice is appreciated

If I was to camp in a camp ground it would be a KOA. Be extra vigilant, camp grounds are notorious for the kidnapers, and criminals. If I was doing it, I'd probably stay in a walmart parking lot for zero dollars and have orange juice and honeybuns a 100ft away and a bathroom until about 11pm, unless its a 24hr store
