Scrog training advice.

As part of my grow this year I was planning on doing scrog for the very first time. I have been pulling branches down on Abby (I named all 15 plants alphabetically, just to keep track) She is really bushy now, and I still have 2-3 more weeks of veg. I am planning on building a 3-3.5'x3-3.5' grid out of chicken fencing. Can anyone suggest, or give a link to something showing how I should train the plants to fit on the screen? It seems that if I do something wrong at this stage, I may not have a good yield.

Should I have pics of the plant? Ill work on that.

It looks like you have good structure on that plant for doing scrog, which is incredibly easy to do if that isn't a very "woody" plant. What I mean by woody is the branches will not bend over well because of the stiffness of their structure. Pineapple chunk is very woody and will snap if bent too far.

I would say that the screen needs to be built so that it sets about 4-6" above the plant as it is now, or just high enough so that it just touches the top of the plant. Then use the screen to block all of the branches from growing any higher than the screen. As the branches begin to grow up through it, you just bend them over and move them further out so that they are held beneath the screen. Eventually the branches will spread out horizontally across the underside of the screen.

Any secondary branches that develop and start coming up through, you need to push them back under as well so that none come up through. leaves don't have to be pushed under. You may have to tie a few branches to the screen to keep them in the correct position as the plant begins to really fill up the screen.

Once the screen is about 3/4 full of growth, you flip the lights to 12/12 but keep pushing the growth under until you see buds developing. Those you let come up through the screen. By the 3rd to 5th week of flower, they should stop stretching under the screen and only the buds will continue to grow.

Any branches with buds that form under the canopy where there is little light should be snipped off so that the energy will go to the upper buds. Then just keep em fed and watered and watch them buds grow like a lawn of "grass" or "screen of green"
