Just a couple a questions regarding my first attempt to grow via mother nature:
should I fertilize and when?
and if my babies are male (I didn't read this site first and learn to buy seeds that are female!) can the leaves be used to make hash like people describe on the site.

Thanks, wish me luck!

hope..are you adding any potting soil to the outside dirt? If you are I would wait 2 to 3 weeks before ferts and then only maybe quarter strength..that is if you use cyrstal or liquid ferts...I would think you would need to add some manure to the soil if not using potting soil..you should be ok with the manure for a while..before adding another ferts..
male leaves do have thc in them just not as much as female so not as strong
and oh yea...good luck

Growing outdoors is much easier IMO as mother nature does do alot of the work, but I still feed my plants just not as frequent instead of 1 or 2 feedings per week like my indoor I feed 1 time every 2 weeks, but I'm sure everyone has there own way! As for the males they are good for 2 things IMO pollinating and Compost!

males usually don't have enough thc to bother - particularily at the stage when you realize they're males. In fact most growers simply kill the males off without a second thought.

Fertilization depends on what soil conditions your plants are growing in. Some soils provide enough nutrients to not add much food at all untill the flowering begins. Growing in a medium with little nutrients in it will require allot more food. Watch your plants and take the signals they give you. Slightly yellowing leaves with less vigor than normal probobly could use a feeding. Try to use organic fertilizers - this will give you a little more play in measurements as chems easily burn your plants if you apply to much, and organics produce great, healthy plants. Good luck.
