Hi,

In Point form:

- Ok so I have inherited a job 3 weeks ago to take care of a room right up until harvest.
- When I first was shown what to do, he noted that the plants had yellowing going on in the leaves, with brown burned edges. (fan, middle + some smaller ones), and that he wasn't sure what to do.
- I told him it looks like fert burn.
- He thought that maybe it was Rust.
- He left the next day.
- He has no cell phone.
- He instructed me to turn on the supher burner every 4 days.
- The room temp is at 77 F when lights are on.
- It seems to me that it is fertilizer burn, or a PH problem.
- K, so he left to Costa Ricca.
- The plants are in their last phaze of blooming.
- I tested the water run off (from the soil out the bottom of the pots) with a meter - PPM (EC x 500) and it read 1800+ - the very top of the meter. (Truncheon) This is with just plain water running thru the plants.
- The water tests @ 300 PPM w/meter
- The water PH is 8.0, but with feed it is 6.2

I was told that the feed + water should read at least 1200 PPM, and that the run off should not go over 1000 PPM. So i figured that the feed was wayyyy too high. He told me that he didn't really test his PH levels, and he was feeding EVERY water. I am 2 1/2 weeks away from harvest. Anyway.... a week ago I flushed the plants using a clearing solution. Today, I went to water and feed, but checked a plant first to see the reading (with only water) and it still reads 1800! The water going in reads only 300.

In my flush I watered them till water was running out the bottom.

Ahhhh! I don't know what to do??? :hitchair: The leaves are getting worse and worse..... And the readings are high still.

The plants need to be watered. What should I do?

It has been a pain in the !@%#$ to try and figure out what's up?

Can anyone give some good advice?

- How much should I flush the plants?
- Does it really matter what the water "run off" reads?

Thank you so much.

lol ur feed should be no where near either of those if u are that far along at the moment otherwise that dank is gunna taste like Mr Clean under the sink

ur ppm levels should be determined mainly by the genetics of the variety u have going. so that would be crucial info if he is in a business/money situation, those are the things that need to be known.

if they are burning at the last couple weeks of flowering u need to do nuthing but flush* with 100-300ppm water, gentle 3(2) part. something like 0-4-6, with some goodies in there if u having any, but keep the ppm level below 500 fer sure fer sure.

that feeding schedule should also be based on dudes situation. if he needs quality, smooth*, kind dank it needs to be completely flushed atleast 2 days b4 harvest, run off not over 300ppm. of course this is my opinion but u dont ever wanna burn during flowering at all, especially not in the last couple weeks, there is no turning back from that and growth will mostly stop, reaping havok on ur yield no doubt. the most u can do is preserve the quality of wats left.

high ppm of inorganic fertz right b4 harvest will get u Lysol buds :p

ur super flush will leave ur plants looking very sad, but that is the price for a serious burn :/ they most likely will not green up again, and harvesting should be happening as soon as u get ur runoff lower

btw, with this flush regimen which u probably should do, ur leaves will not get better, a good flush and ur leaves should be yellowing and browing (softly) like they would outdoors in the fall. just keep flushin the sht outa it with hella plain water and very low ppm

Thanks for the reply! So quick.... I really needed this. I just came out of the room.

So the feed should have only been at 500? Ok.... starting when? I have been reading that it should be at no higher than 1000. And that is what he told me too.

Anyway....Because the run off was soooo dang high, I just flushed them a week ago. And STILL the run off (from out the bottom of the plant) is showing up as 1800 PPM!

How much should I flush? They have at least 2 weeks to go?

I really appreciate your help.

btw, How do I post pics up here. I just took some pics of the state of the leaves.

Also I do I thank you on the board?

:)

Here are some pics of the leaves.

..To "flush" over nutrients, run 3 times as much ph adjusted water, as your pot size,, through your pots...e.g. a 3 gallon pot, 9 gallons of fresh water... or until the runoff is fresh and clear, no yellow or "off colored" runoff.

I see you posted the question u PMd me. :D
and you got an answer. :aok:
Welcome to the forum and Happy growin. :48:

Thanks guys!!

Since I am two weeks away from harvest. Should I feed one more time after the flush???

Naw...if you got only two weeks. Just straight water. PH'd around 6.8-7.0 will do just fine ;)

/\_^ yea dont feed again. its not as bad as i had imagined from ur first post ;) so yea u should be alright, just regular water.

and I meant 500ppm as just a max for ur flush water, ... most ppl will and can run a ppm of a 1000 or more (depending on certain factors) and be fine, but they will just down it come the last couple weeks b4 harvest. so 1200ppm is fine (given those factors) but just always completely flush b4 harvest. and sometimes if ur ppm is really high like it is/was, a little bit of fertz in ur water (100-300ppm) can actually help scrape more built up salts off.

either way flushin should be the only thing ur doin b4 u start clippin buds :D

let us know how it goes bro

I wouldn't run the sulpher burner at this point either. It will make the buds smoke harsh. Like everybody else said flush with lots of ph balanced water.
I don't use my sulpher burner anymore because they made my buds way to harsh in my opinion.

like you were recommended before... flush the shot out of it to clean out the over-nutes that are in your growing medium... HOWEVER... I would suggest that u give a weak solution of vegging nutes to any remaining watering you have to do...the plants will not get burned more from this... it will simply give them something to eat... but that's just me....
