If you have a 8x8x6 tent how many lumens, would a person need?if you have a 4x4x6 they say 50.000 lumens.Where could a person be able to find out if it is better to get new stuff, l have a 400 @600,with what else a person needs,so l am wondering if l could use what l have in the 8x8x6.Think Postive!!!!! Or not a snowball Chanc e in -ell. Thanks:D

Why not start with the light you have, See how it works in your larger tent and move on from there. Just make sure you have enough air flow, and amps for a bigger light when upgrading. That way all your looking at is a ballast and bulb if needed. Just grow a few less plants at first.:)

with a 4 x 4 tent I would veg for plants if I could I would use both th 400, 600 together to veg then I would move them to the 8 x 8 tent and try and get another 600 watt hps if thoses are the light you choose I am useing leds two six-hundreds on the sides and one four-houndred watt in the middle two veg or if you needed lots of budz in no rush one plant in the 4 x 4 both lights veg and bloom in there heck ya buddy that would be the way to go at least for me

5000 lumens per square foot. so 64 x 5000 = 320,000 lumens.
2, 1000 watt HPS fixtures will cover the space you have.

I am not sure who said that 50,000 lumens will do a 4 x 4 space, but that is not enough. Like Growdude said, 5,000 lumens per sq ft. That puts a 4 x 4 room at 80,000 MINIMUM

I think that you are going to need more than 2 1000W as most put out 140,000 lumerns. With 280,000 lumens, you are still 40,000 lumens below minimum with 2 1000W.

Why are you oing so big?

8x8 is huge if you are looking to grow a forest go for it, but for 6 or so plants its overkill. partition it off and your lights will work. jmo

I run a 8x8 flower room and I use 4x 600w and 1x 400w for the area. Its way more than you need for a personal grow imo. Electricity becomes an issue with this much wattage. You will most likely need to do some custom wiring for the lights, a/c, fans etc... watch your amps.

ohh...i thought this thread was about a quickie......
