hi,

i'm new to site and to growing the weed.

i have set up a growing room that is 95dx80wx160h(cm) and am beginning to think this might be too small. i have a 400w hps light, extractor fan with vent situated high up on back wall, inlet through a vent (no fan) situated on bottom of back wall. the problem is the temperature which is running at 35-36 c .

question is really, do i need to set up another room and start again in a bigger space or would venting in fresh air with a fan do the trick.??

cheers

:)

your light matches your room size pretty well.. watts/lumens per sq meter..
"fresh cool air in".. "hot stale air out"...;) a bigger extraction fan might do the trick.

Welcome and good luck with the heat problem.

Yo Ho loulou,

Yeppers, Hick is right, your room seems right on the spot. Venting is where it's at right now, and it won't take much to up the amount of cfm's being removed. Then you'll get it dialed in fast. You are off to a really nice start though.

Crunchy chair... haven't seen those before. Or do you just have a bad case of the munchies?

thanks for your help i was beggining to think the room was too small and i would have to start again. i will get a bigger exit fan and then use the current exit fan to push some fresh air in, then see what sort of temp it runs at.

love the pics thanks for those and its a relief to be able to talk to people as you feel a bit isolated doing this. we are so fed up with buying stuff that is such poor quality we thought lets grow our own and we can choose what we want to smoke.

will keep you up to date.

LouLou thats the very reason im doing it my only regret is i didnt do it a long long time ago in a galaxy far far away........:bong2: :joint: :yay:

hi,

just to update i have changed the fans, so now have bigger extractor and a fan bringing in fresh air. with door shut the temp is now 30 c, is this ok? also any tips on keeping the noise of the fans down, they are currently screwed to the roof beams.

;)

If my maths right thats about 86F so think should be ok.
How about adding an oscillating fan that should bring it down a bit more and keep the air and the plants themselves moving a bit.
I have an oscillating fan screwed to a wood beam running from floor to ceiling and i put foam on the base before i screwed it to beam which has helped.
If its possible leave the door open while it daylight to help with temps
