Do you think the feds are watching?

Worry about indicting yourself if you grow?

Don't care... if the cops were worried about every closet grower in the USA then they wouldn't have better time to bust pedophiles, murderers and rapists.

closet grows arent' anything they need to worry about . They want busts that get their faces on the news.

Your right Mr. W, but don't leave anything around that they might stumble over. They're not gonna mind taking time out from their pursuit of perverts and serial killers to haul a closet grower in if they're in the neighborhood and see the sodium halide glow from the closet door you left open.

One exception to needing a search warrant is what's called the "plain view doctrine." Example, leo sees one of your babies in your window when he answers a domestic dispute next door. Bingo, he can search your place. Or the old refuge of traffic cops, the roach left in the ashtray.

I am such a wet blanket! :angrywife: Just don't want anyone to get busted.

I don't know how it works for you guys, but in Texas if they wanna come in your house they have to be invited, allowed, or have a warrant. Even if you're the one that calls them, they can't enter your home unless they are allowed to. I don't care if they do see a plant in the window or that "glow" from under the door. If they knock on your door and you tell them they can't come in, then they can't. That doesn't mean they can't get a search warrant for probable cause and come back (in some cases within hours), but you'll have time to move it or destroy it.

On one occasion, I had a relative that was after me for some money I owed him (this guy is SEVERELY unhinged) and he was harrassing me, so I had to file a restraining order. When the cop came over he saw the "roach in the ashtray" (actually, it was my water bong on the mantle) and asked to search the place. I told him no and he left it at that, but I could tell that he was trying to look around the whole time he was inside. If he had found my stash under the couch it would've been no biggie (not much on the tray) but I doubt if he would've found my QP in the bathroom vent. LOL.

I actually have friends that pay off the constables and police in their neighborhood just for their own protection. If a cop does come a callin' and he's not on the payroll, he either will be or the cop that is on the payroll takes care of the situation. Pretty sweet deal for my friend. Been growing for 20+ years and had some of the same cops on the payroll for that long.

I know my cop that sits around my complex at night and watches is cooler than cool. He usually calls me when he gets here and I go jump in his car and smoke a j with him before his shift starts. Only, he doesn't know I'm growing, but if he did I don't think he'd care too much or he might protect me in exchange for my silence on his habits... or maybe a free bag of dro. Who knows? LOL. But for now, I think I'll not push my luck by telling him. LOL.

Sorry, but this is sooo not true. One of the leading supreme court cases on plain view searches came from Texas:

http://supreme.justia.com/us/460/730/case.html

FYI there are a dozen other ways for LEO to enter & search without permission or a warrant. Example: Domestic violence call- automatic entry in most states.

From Wikipedia:

The plain view doctrine allows an officer to seize without a warrant, evidence and contraband found in plain view during a lawful observation. In order for the officer to seize the item, the officer must have probable cause to believe the item is evidence of a crime or is contraband. The police may not move objects to get a better view. In Arizona v. Hicks 480 U.S. 321 (1987), the officer was found to have acted unlawfully. While investigating a shooting, the officer moved, without probable cause, stereo equipment to record the serial numbers. The plain view doctrine has also been expanded to include the sub doctrines of plain feel, plain smell, and plain hearing.[1] In Horton v. California 496 U.S. 128 (1990), the court eliminated the requirement that the discovery of evidence in plain view be inadvertent. Previously, "inadvertent discovery" was required leading to difficulties in defining "inadvertent discovery." A three-prong test is now used. The test requires the officer to be "engaged in lawful activity at the time," "the object’s incriminating character was immediately apparent and not concealed," and "the officer had lawful access to the object and it was discovered accidentally."[2]

Just a FYI:..

im sure many of you home alarms with motion sensors and etc.
I no longer use my motion sensors. Just door and window alarms.

Why??

several months ago, my dog set of my motion sensor. Some how he got out
of his motion sensor free area, the Kitchen. Anyways..

Home alarm was set off. Home monitoring called the police.
Police came to my home. Searched the area, and Entered my home.
Wife said the cop said, my backdoor was unlocked so he entered.
So he goes on and searches my house. He eventually finds my
water bong.

So when my wife gets to the house. The cop tells my wife he found
some contraband, my waterbong which was empty didn't even have
water in it, just dirty with resin. He advised my wife, that she needs
to dispose of it. My wife freaked out and made me chuck my $100
water bong.. ERRRRRRRRRRRR

Im glad i keep my Onces in the freezer inside a frozen pizza box.

NE ways.. if you are growing, or stashing.. Becareful with the
alarms and home monitoring and motion sensors.

excelent and often overlooked advice there MrPuffalot. Im the same, I never set my alarm as im paranoid of it going off and the police being called out. The further away they are from my house the better lol
