Okay, so I'm new to this. I'm starting out with CFLs because I'm not really looking to spend too much money and get really into this. I just want to grow a few plants at a time.

But my question is, what's the cheapest way to hang CFLs over my plants? I haven't really looked into it yet, but I plan on going out today and buying some materials. Any advice would definately be appreciated. :D

I bought a cheap bathroom light fixture at Home Depot...the kind that hold 3 bulbs. I hang it over my plants with rope. LOL. Yea, I am cheap too. :D

This is back when they were tiny, but you get the idea. I just tighten the rope as they get bigger.

I use 3 65w flourex flood lights...I just put some eye-hole screws into them and hung them with some shoelace...

thanks for the tips. today i went out and bought a few things that are basically just something you screw a lightbulb into with a cord attatched to it to plug into the wall. they were about 4 dollars a piece, so i think i'm all set as far as lighting goes. :)

Hi there . If you take the sockets you just bought , measure the diameter of them and get a hole saw that size . Find a piece of wood , plank , whatever and space the holes out , about were the plants will be atleast one per plant . slip the socket in the holes , i spliced all my cords into 1 so there is no mess and less taken up on my powerstrip . GET 2 eye screws and put them at the ends of the board and in the center from side to side , find some small chain at any homeimprovement or hardware and a couple METAL shower curtain hangers ( these and chain make it easy to adjust ) paint the lighted surface white * optional * and " TA DA "
a light system . Hope this helps a little !!
good luck with your grow !

PEACE:D

also an adjustable shower curtain rod makes a good hanging place for the new light system , this is all provide you have some tools and supplies .
PEACE:D
