I'm really thinking about buying a Procyon, anyone with some experience willing to share their opinions? I'd be putting it over about a 3.5x3.5 spot next to a row of cfls (x5) on each side. So the space is actually 3.5x5, I'm trying to stretch one procyon out with the cfls to a slighly bigger space than the Procyon can handle. If it works good, I'd use 2 over that same space.

If you're going that route I would look into this one too...

"The LED Spectra unit

The LED Spectra unit is available in 90W, 180W, 300W and 600W. The multi-functional Spectra units are ideal for the grow- and floweringphase; so they're good for germinating seeds, growing and flowering, until the harvesttime is there!

The LED Spectra unit is compounded out of 5 ledspectra and 3 color temperatures. What is new, is the adaptation of UV led in the led growlights. Ultraviolet works as a prevention against fungi and vermin and contributes to a higher concentration of essential oils and better quality fruits.

The LED Spectra unit is designed to wavelenghts (nanometers) wich creates the photosynthesis in plantlife. The most important photosynthesis organisms are chlorophyll-a and chlorophyll-b, b-carotene and xanthofyl (phycoerythrin + phycocyanin). Essential in this ratio is the wavelenghts that are adjusted to have an ideal ratio in comparison to eachother. This creates a sort of synergy wich makes the stomata open up better and the plant is able to absorb more CO2.

The 3 colortemperatures have a complete spectrum, one stimulates growth and the other two enhance flowering. Because of this LED Specra can be used as a complete lighting system in rooms where there is no day- or sunlight."

Hey Raisin Jackson, I too am interested in the Procyon 100. Any other make/models that you are looking at? I have been researching LED information like crazy; looking at using it strictly for vegetative puposes.

I've looked at a bunch, kinda got it down to the Procyon vs haight solid state vs ??. It's such a tough decision, I want one to replace my mh/hps, and use it the entire grow. I think I've stayed away from UFO style LEDs because there is so many of them, alot of cheap ones. The Procyon looks very high quality, and looks like it will last longer than alot of the others. I'm actually planning on buying one today and using for a new grow. I guess I'll be a tester. I've heard stories of monster commercial grows using led/t5 with success, the supernova I believe.

Basically my goal is to eventually replace one 600 hps with 3 procyons, giving me good light saturation for a 3.5x7 footprint, instead of 3.5x3.5 with less than or equal amounts of heat to blow out of the room.
