i gave the babies their first feeding last night. when i woke up, 2 of the 9 plants are quickly showing problems.

ph was 5.4 when i changed res & gave them their first feeding.

this morning it was 5.5 when i checked it

temp/rh = 75.4 F/54%

i fed them 1/2ml/L grow/micro/bloom & 1/4ml/L cal/mg

ppm = 350

after going through all the def. charts and explanations. my current thought is a mg problem.

leaf curling up/twisting, brown/necrosis between veins, while veins remain green.

gimme your thoughts mpar, only 2 of the 9 are showing issues

EDIT: new foliage not showing any signs of issues

Too soon to feed, maybe....did you spill nuted water onto the leaves?

nope no nuted water on leaves, i felt like i might have been feeding too early but looking at their root system at 14 days its pretty strong. today is day 17btw

Well i wouldn;t worry about older leafs you need to look at the new growth chances are plants needed food probably week earlier soon as clone or seedling establishes a decent root system they are in need of food
you gave them litterally 150 ppm as your water is prob in the 160 range as it is lol so no you didn;t over feed
what ever you do don;t start chasing your self keep monitoring ph if you like
change out some of your res and add fresh water if your really worried but don;t start flushing give it a few days and see trust me your plant will come back and take off

my waters ppm is actually quite low its 60-70 out of the tap. i'm not overly worried, just never hurts to ask opinions of more knowledgeable people.

What brand of nutes are you using?

What are you using to test the pH?

Can you snap a picture of the whole plant?

If using GH3 part are you mixing the nutes correctly? Micro first then the others?

Mg deficiencies mainly shows up in flower. ime

i dont think its too early for feed. it does look like water burn, or heat damage. ive dont this a few times. water splashed on bottom of leaves could damage them. i also see you spray ur leaves. make sure ur leaves are far from light tilll dry enough to put under lght. any full plant pics? might help more....
i wouldnt worry unlless the new leaves are growing also burnd

^^^my journal

im running AN jungle juice gmb. i fill the res with water and let it sit out for 24hrs with the air stones running. add the micro then the grow then the bloom then the cal/mg. let it sit 1 hour then ph the solution.

thats just plain hp'd water i sprayed on them.(just testing out my new sprayer) cfl's are 3-4 inches away atm.

i use a ph pen to ph my nutes.

i'll snap some more photo's and post em asap

The dissolved solids in the starting water counts toward the total ppms and it is generally minerals of some kind, so those dissolved solids are also feeding the plant--you just generally don't know what the dissolved solids are. So it is possible to overnute on a specific nutrient if the water is also high in that element or compound.

well its city water, and jersey is known for having "hard water". so i know u gotta let the chlorine evap. and my best guess as to "hard water" meaning high in iron?

It usually refers to calcium carbonate and magnesium carbonate.

yes i know that thats why i said he was probably giving them 150 ppm of nutrients
but you also got to realize Tap water is more likely to have a bound Ca in the form of CaCO3. It may also, depending on the source itself (water has passed through limestone, for example) be high in other carbonates and other minerals that are not readily available forms. Also, the carbonates themselves may cause problems, especially with regard to pH shift and keeping it pegged there. just water a plant see how long it will be till she starts to starve but either her nor there allot of growers will add the ppm of there water into the TDS
and many will subtract the tds unless you actually had a water analysis test and know what the hell is there
Again not all ppm of water are readily available for plant uptake

pic 1&2 are the 2 plants with the issues

pic 3 is one of the other 7 healthy plants

just testing out my new sprayer

Did you happen to wash out the sprayer prior to using it?

If new growth is nice and green I would not worry to much.

When upping your nutes though you really need to watch for nute burn. And it can happen really fast in DWC

Yeah, I clean everything. I'm going to keep an eye on the ph & just observe them for a few days

Yep, patience is a great virtue when growing:)

Again I have to agree with the Dr, I think they look hungry :)
