well thos will probley do trick for now but in about 3 or 4 weeks i would go with a 1 or 2 gallon size pot for the rest of the grow i like plastic pots just cuz they are cheap and get the job done

since you are growing outside, the bigger the pot, the bigger the plant will be. i use mostly 15 gallon pots, tho i have bought this year some bigger ones from home base, they ran bout $20, and i am estimating they are like 25 or 30 gallons. Then i went to the hydro shop near by and found some huge hydro pots, just plain black plastic pots. Them i put two plants in each as i didnt want to buy so much more soil.
You will be needing to get a bigger pot tho, soon.
i go four inch, to one gallon, then the 3gallon or 15 gallon, depending what pots are avaliable.
good luck
plants look real nice

Yeah, 15 gallon pots would be a great size for outdoor. You want at the very least 7-8 to allow enough room for root growth.

well i've not really got a whole lot to work with in this little town...just the local wal-mart and a family owned greenhouse, which i've been meaning to check out...But i usually grow in these 4-5 gallon square like kitty litter buckets(always good to recycle:D)...But i will look into 10 or more...thanks a lot, i always appreciate good advice...I'll try to get a grow journal up and going as soon as i get everything in place, too much moving around and not enough time at the moment...

wall mart carries a big pot, i bought some last year. Kinda decrative, but they work. i suggest white, as the roots wont get over heated. I painted most of my big black pots white this year.
i live in a rural area, has a small nursery, they sell their old pots, check them (family green house) for sure.

The bigger the better right from the get go. Transplanting ALWAYS causes some shock. All your doing by transplanting a bunch is decreasing your final weight. Did tests in college botany and this is true. Trust me.
