Not being able to have freedom of speech sucks

Should I buy gold with my excess money in bank, I am wondering if the dollar will be worth anything in a few months from now?

I have been thinking what the Dollars value will be worth after all this Government spending

This is interesting. Either you work for your money or your money works for you......I prefer the second option but you better get it right. A fool and his money will soon be departed.

Real estate is normally thought of as a good long term investment. Unless, you have money to buy and sell properties as a business. Are you thinking about taking your money out of the bank because we are screwed right now?

I think he means some ppl are worried about the state of affairs of the Country and don't trust banks.
I personally am not taking my money out of my bank.
Better be more concerned about gas prices,taxes, and inflation because those three things don't care where your money is.

I have no intention on buying Gold - although it is predicted to increase sharply in 2021 (lots of predictors (a.k.a. snake-oil salesmen - out there!!!).

I just started on Pension - matter of fact I just took my first hit via direct deposit a couple weeks ago.
Hope things don't go to **** too bad - although I think my pension is safe (fully funded by former employer and invested in blue chips) I heard stories of other pensions going **** up in bad economies (e.g. Bethlehem Steel),

My money will stay in IRA and bank accounts.
If **** gets really bad - like gun toting bad - I will close all accounts and bury cash in PVC pipe.. (It will have to be really bad),

I own limited stock - but I picked a couple winners over the last few years
My #1 :
Tesla - first stock purchase I bought 100 shares in Oct 2018 at $52/share. Today's share price = $880.
I have added shares during 2019 and just sit and watch the value skyrocket.

speaking of Skyrocket - if Spacex stock was available for purchase - I would jump on that.
At present - ownership limited to a few very very rich people. Not sure if Musk will let this one go public.

Elan Musk is a genius who definitely thinks outside the box.

I don't know if I will ever buy an electric car or fork over 1/4Mil for a space ride,
but that does not keep me from investing in great ideas that will be in demand for decades to come.

I got into bitcoin around $400 bucks and I’ve been playing on house money for a few years now....I have been selling a little bitcoin here and there and putting some of the profits into physical gold and silver

i was getting a little bored buying gold silver coins so a friend I know suggested panning for gold.

so I’ll be out in my garage with my Swedish girlfriend and we will be operating a small sluice box and a couple pans.

and I’m just waiting on my gold pay dirt to get here and then the party will be on!
We bought a couple of these bags for beginners

I got into bitcoin around $400 bucks and I’ve been playing on house money for a few years now....I have been selling a little bitcoin here and there and putting some of the profits into physical gold and silver

i was getting a little bored buying gold silver coins so a friend I know suggested panning for gold.

Food for thought. Inflation has been relatively low over the last few decades.....running at about 3%. With that in mind say you had $100,000 sitting in the bank since 2000. That is 20 years of your $ loosing 3% each year. After a decade you would have effectively lost 30% of its value due to inflation or $30,000 in purchasing power...... You still have $100,000 in the bank but it will only buy 70,000 worth of durable goods.

Imagine what the future holds for inflation......this country is printing $ by the billions.....the more they print the value of the dollar goes down which in the long term causes increased inflation. Cash isn't king.....can you imagine the dollar becoming the same value as the Mexican Peso.....?

I have been buying gold for a couple of years now. I also have money invested in real estate and annuities. I also like investing into property, selling it and carrying it on an interest only loan using the property as collateral.

I fear for the American dollar....just my .02

not as bad as being a survivor of nuclear blast,

but not far off.

I meant our economy and the state of the country. That people may not trust the banks because of the Great Depression and we might be going into another recession. I personally would not take money out of the bank unless you have another way to save or keep it like Gold or Silver or Real Estate. I was kind of wondering if it is to late to move your money around like that.

I have an environmental science degree. It is from online and I mostly did a lot of research and writing. There is a uranium deposit 30 miles from my house and I have tried to learn about uranium mining and coal mining because of the waste products. Botany is only a class though and I wish I learned more about that. I admire her, Marie Curie.

There are mines in North Carolina where you can buy a bucket of dirt that has raw gem stones in it. A large bucket is about $250.
