the temps here fell to 36 degrees last night. the lowest before last night was 41 degrees and the plants (all but two) are turning a dark purple from the temps i think.
I have only found in my book that mj stops growing at 46 degrees, nothing about the harm colder weather will do.

My question is,
1. should i harvest now tho the trics are all cloudy and less than ten percent are amber?
2. or leave the plants out during the day and bring them in at night?

thank you for your help

Just found this:http://www.quicktrading.com/tips16.html

When the temperature drops below 40 degrees, the plants may experience some damage and require about 24 hours to resume growth. Low nighttime temperatures may delay or prevent bud maturation. Some equatorial varieties stop growth after a few 40 degree nights.

I'd bring em in at night, if it's not too much of a hassle.

My nitely lows have been 'pretty' consistantly falling into the mid to upper30's. NOT a problem..IMHO. Though the plants aren't able to "metabolize" much at those temps, I believe it also tlls the plants to "HURRY up", the end of the season is coming soon.
You're correct in thinking the cool temps are promoting the purple coloring. Cool temps inhibit the ability to uptake and utilize "P", resulting in a defficiency that is expressed in red or purple pigmentation.

Had a couple of frosts here and my harvest is underway. In my opinion frosty nites and sunny days speed up the maturing process, cool nites and damp cool days are what stops growth and can cause budrot. My buds are all purple but have lots of tricomes and a really strong high.

yea that, my one short lady since it started getting cool at night is showing the prettiest red pistils, and the nugs are piling on fast and the trics well no where near cloudy or amber and covering surface everywhere. but mine are also in containers, elevated, in a Greenhouse. so im sure they don't get the hole 30 degree temps.
