Good stuff guys! getnasty, what do you use as a marinade. I never marinade. Maybe a light dry rub or just salt and pepper. I feel a good cut of meat needs nothing more than a kiss from the flames. Medium Rare never more.

I like a light rub on my steaks with this stuff called Johnny's. I've been useing a gas BBQ the last 10 years or so, I had a real Charcoal briquet burger the other day at the neighbors, what a difference in taste, it was so good!!!! the gas is sure convienent though.

I agree I've been using gas for the summer.

Drfting,

Generally a lemon pepper marinade, but every now and again I'll let them set in a bowl filled with beer for 12-18 hours. Even done it with whiskey before, though that was just a waste of some mighty fine whiskey! Good steak, though.

I also refuse to use gas. Charcoal is more expensive in the long run if you use your grill all the time, but the taste is so much better, even with added mesquite or apple cider blocks in gas. God, you guys have me drooling over here. :p

I make my own marinade with Jack Daniel's, ketchup, mustard, relish, brown sugar and onion.....let the steaks sit overnight in that then grill them up. NICE!!

Now for dessert, I love some good ol' fashioned apple crisp fresh from the oven served with french vanilla ice cream....YUM! ummmm....think I'll go to the store :)

With an unceremonious plop of icing, some Ruby Red Squirt, and a bud dipped in freshly extracted oil.
