when are they going to bud?do they look alright?and do you think putting a dead mackerel in the dirt will help I have been told that it will.
I guess any other tips and hints will also help.

in theory, yes, a dead fish is good fertilizer :) i fish alot, and when i clean my catch, i bury the remains out by my grapefruit tree and its a KILLER fertilizer.. but, not exactly something you'd want near your plant.. lots of scavengers for one, racoons and the like.. you dont want them digging in your plot.. plus, the stink factor lol.. but on the other hand that could be a plus.. the smell of dead mackerel covering the smell of dank :D

..I don't believe a dead fish will benefit your plants at all this season. It would take several weeks, "at least", if not several months for a fish to compost down into a useable form for plants.
Just go purchase a quality fertilizer that is designed and formulated for plants. They will start budding within the next few weeks, dependant on your geographical location and strain.

I have noticed in my garden that a microbial fertilizer for vegetable plants works great. The microbes form a fungal layer that aids the plants in collecting nutrients sometimes by a thousand percent. Look for this stuff by Mike Amaranthus (spelling?) or anything with microbes.
