Neem Oil

Hello Everyone. I'm new to this forum. Actually the first time i have ever used a forum for anything. I want to ask a question.....
I have one ready to harvest but i noticed spider mites are appearing. Is it ok to use Neem oil to get rid of them 2 weeks b4 harvest? I dont want to dry my crop with mites on them. I did use neem oil on them last night and believe it or not i vacuumed the buds first. Cut off leaves i could get to. What do any of you do when you spot spider mites so close to harvest? I have been doing this for a few yrs and still learning. I look forward to seeing how well these forums work. Are there any other forum sites you recommend?

What a great idea; vacuum the leaves. Great thinking.

I am not sure on the neem. You still may have the bugs on the buds even if you use neem as it is a surface coating oil; bugs may stay on leaves, dead but still there.

Mites are the worst things in the growing community to deal with and the breed very fast. The do have predator bugs that eat mites but not sure how fast and which is better to smoke, a mite or a predator.

.....neem oil will taint the flavor of your buds.
Lower temps and higher RH will slow their reproduction. Vacume or wipeing down the underside of leaves will lower the adult population.

The mites will leave the buds as they dry.... I recommend drying them by hanging...... and put tangle foot on the ends... they will all congregate there and can be squashed quite nicely......
Your grow area will need to be sprayed/washed down or further infestations will keep happening.... Mites are really the tools of the devil.

*buzz* wrong! It is kinda like glue.... that doesn't dry.... it is for around foundations/trees to keep ants and other bugs from crawling around. Kinda like a apply anywhere sticky trap.

hmm... if drying the buds naturally... why not decoy the mites to a live plant of near your buds? wouldn't they flock to that instead and just discard that plant or remove it from the house afterwards?

Tanglefoot is a plant isn't it? I looked it up yesterday but was on my way out the door to work. So i never read about it. The mites are gone. I used neem oil and i vacuumed the buds and i let the temp in the room get realo low 54 degrees for a few nights. Webs are gone so i'm flushing for a week then harvest. I flush with 2 liters a day maybe one. Its a 15 gallon container. I wouldnt sacrafice another plant. Tanglefoot was/is a great idea and next time i'm staying on top by applying natural pesticides throughout rather i see them or not. How much can we talk here in these forums. Since DC hates us via FEDS, ATF? I'll show you some pics of some killer Kush and Buddha. Talk at you later, thanks for the post advice
