I've been using cured buds, but if curing is mainly for taste and even burning; would any potency be potentially lost using dry, but not yet cured weed?

Some cure methods do increase the potency-per-gram, but as far as my knowledge goes, it has to do with removing chlorophyll and other unwanted weight. I wouldn't expect your recipe to have to change much. I would expect your butter to be more green.
