Hello friends..I am re doing the shed and Have 3 room inside..now Im looking for thaughts on if i make my intake vents in the floor of shed..Thos sits on 10 inch pier blocks..I am not likeing the idea of 3 vents comeing out side of shed..now on the back side of these rooms i have 14 inches to the ouside wall of shed..I would like to have intake hooked to 90 degree into floor..im thinking this would allow less light:cool: ..and no outside notice..please let me know what you thoughts are

Thanks...:D

I think getting your cool air from the bottom would be great. I also think I would try pretty hard to vent all heat out the top. There isn't anything unusual about (a nice big) vent on the top of the shed? And what are you going to do in the winter? Venting heat under the shed may cause mold issues?

Just my thoughts. :bong1:

Thanks Art.. Here hold this:bong1: will i try and explain a bit more in detail...My shed is 12 x 16 x 9.5 inside that I have 3 rooms..

1...3x 12...

2...6x 5..

3...3x5..

now #2and3 are in center of shed with they own door...i can walk all they way around these two rooms..these will be flower and bean room..behind i have the 14 inches to an insolated outside wall..

now #1 is veg and clone starts ect ect...all this room is insolated as well..and heated in winter with wall cadet...worked great last 2 yrs with tent like rooms..But wanted an upgrade:aok:.

now i am asking for intake ..not exhaust as I have that setup out the back top of shed no worries here..I dont think i will get mold from intake..will I?..

and a last little bit...my shed looks like a barn..with two Big doors...one is nailed shut..you open the other and a wall with door is 22 inches from that..this is insolated wall..

okay now give me my :bong1: Back

Aaah :). :bong1::bong1: I need to stay out of these threads that require thought when I've been :bong1:.

In light of your restatement of the facts, and after further consideration and :bong1::bong1::bong1:, I don't see any problem getting intake air from the bottom. Screen/mesh over the openings to keep bugs and small crawling critters out :).

4U; two thoughts. First a elbow of atleast 8" in dia or a 8" hood you fabricate should be enough for that room. My thought however is are you going to "temper" that fresh air or ? bringing that cold of air could shock the plants during the winter mo's. On larger rooms i've used a elec furnace sourced from a hvac guy (me) for make-up air . By using delay timers you can adjust the output of heat from the furnace for make-up air.

thanks guys...I have always braught in air from outside..and last years cold snapps were hard on me..thanks meds4me..and Art for you thaughts..this is helping me

4U2, your outside environment is diff from mine I suspect, but I wouldn't even crawl under my shed much less suck that moldy, buggie air into my most precious space. My $.02 from down in the sub-tropics. I'd get me some big sewer sized PVC, 8' to 12' and go through the floor and elbow under the ground a bit then elbow back up in the yard next to the shed. Cover with a screen and a vent cap. That way, you're pulling good clean air. JMO.

Luck and peace.

Insert a furnace filter in your duct work to keep bugs out.

Do you use a passive intake?

Maybe put intake in isolation wall floor, this would allow a warm up of air
