Welcome to the group amu.

If you look at the top of this page, you'll see "Resources".

That's a link to all of your questions that are basic, newbie questions.

I would suggest that you read the entire grow guide you'll find there.

Good luck to you!

I answered you in the intro area that you asked the same question.

Click on "Resources" above.

thanks . i have read all of the grow guids. and maybe ive missed something. they do explain loads of stuff. but not what stage i should put them under my 400watt lights. i dont wanna fry them to death. can you help. sorry to be a pain.

Seedlings are more sensitive to heat than more established plants.

A lot depends on the ventilation and air movement in your grow area.

With small seedlings, I would advise you to keep your 400 at least 36 inches above your plants and have a fan moving the air gently around your seedlings to make them stronger.

As the seedlings get larger, move the light closer in increments of a few inches per/day. Watch your plants CLOSELY after moving your light closer. If the light is too close, it will be obvious in the seedlings reaction to it.

If the seedlings show ANY reaction like wilting, drying, browning or the like, move that light back up to where it was good.

I don't think it matters when to put under 400 watt light !
stages doen't mean nothing to a plant, it matters when u turn ur light from 18/6 to 12/12 for flowering and keep ur lights above 16 inch above the plant then u won't burn them.

thanks for the advice. i was getting well stressed. as i didnt know what to do next. so do you think they will begin to grow faster and better under the bigger light. cause they aint grew much at all in the past 2 weeks. ?

Dude, he's talking about tiny little seedlings. A 400 watt light at 16 inches will fry those babies like hushpuppies.

After the plants are larger, then 16-18 inches will work fine.

Yes, under more lumens, they'll grow better. The light you're currently using is way too small to do much of anything beyond sprouting the seedlings.

Make sure you keep your 400 up high enough.

Also, don't freak if you ruin your first few tries at growing. Everyone that has grown has killed plants.

Just continue to read and learn. With MJ, practice makes perfect.

thanks so much for advice. i know cause this is my first time growing it might all go wrong. but i love my little babies so much. im gonna be putting them in grow room tonight now. ill be putting them straight in to gigger 3 gallon pots. cause they are in little peat pots now . and apparently peat pots can go straight into the other pots. has anyone had any problems using them ?

Start a grow journal bro you'll learn from it I did.

yep another question. my seeds were feminized seeds. does this mean they will definatly be girls. ?

From:feminizedseed.com

During the 1960's and 1970's some cannabis breeders took to experimenting with Colchicine. Colchicine, a powerful mutagen for both man and beast, stops cell duplication, while the cellcore duplication continues the same. The end result is a doubling or more of the chromosome set. This treatment can be beneficial to cannabis because it enforces many properties such as higher production of thc and resistance to disease. What also resulted, when gender chromosomes doubled, is that male or female chromosomes appear manifold, called Hermaphrodites. What's the plant to become? It becomes all at once. The result is called feminized or effeminate seed.

Genetically, a cannabis plant is more or less predisposed to become male or female. This is regulated by 2 chromosomes everyone knows as the X and Y chromosomes. A plant with 2 XX chromosomes becomes female. A plant with an X and Y turns into a male. Plants have hormones that regulate it's functioning, of which gender is one of those functions. The hormone balance is genetically determined, and partly influenced by environmental factors. An example is when plant roots get damaged. The roots will produce a substance that in turn slows down leaf growth. The result is male flowers. When discussing hormone balance you get FEMALE SEED: a female is a plant with XX or only female chromosomes.

When you have a seed with just X chromosomes, you are certain this seed will grow into a plant that is genetically female. To achieve the XX only plant: a female plant is forced by a hormone called Gibberellic Acid to produce male flowers, the pollen created contains only X chromosomes, when you offer this pollen to another female plant you can be absolutely certain to get seeds which are 100% XX. Once again this seed is called FEMALE SEED. Gibberellic Acid can be found in online. It takes years for an individual to achieve the proper plant hormone manipulation to get 100% female XX seed. Supplies therefore fluctuate and there are many different strains available worldwide.

I would have started under the 400 now they will have to adapt to the 400. If you put them under that light now make sure it is 18 inches or so from the plants so they don't burn. You will notice they will need more water under the 400 as it will add in drying the soil. Do some reading in the resources given in MP!!!
HOPE THIS HELPS
GOOD LUCK

Welcome to MP!
Can't really estimate what you mean by little, but maybe some bigger pots would help. They will probably take off under the 400.
