Im doing my first grow indoors and was trying to mimic a storm by foliar feeding , adding a fan , and turning off the TOP lights in my cab . for a few hours then LIGHTS back on . check out the post in my journal Storm theory for more info it's the last post .is this just a silly idea . i'm not eliminating that much lighting , just a little . i'm a newbie and this is a theory . for growth and strengthening the plants . ALL OPINIONS WELCOME ... PEACE:cool: http://www.marijuanapassion.com/forum/showthread.php?t=11513

this is not as much a storm as a gentle rain , breeze and some ovecast conditions . AGAIN as above this is a THEORY . lol !:bong2:

I had a tornado in my grow room last week. I have thought about doing this too. I would think it would strengthen the plants also.

Later:cool:

i don't see anything wrong with that . actually that's sounds like a good idea never thought of doing something like that i will have to watch this to see how it works out for u. how long have u been doing this for? check out ur grow nice plants peace.

hey guys wazup and yes i really think that will help the plant to strengh the plant it hapen on the wild and the most beutifull plant are in the wild so good luck with your invention and to stiky bud finally i did my clons today and i wet organic here some pics peace out

bro thats awsome. good luck those clones look great too hope they all root. peace

how did this thread get turned towards clones ? highjackers ! just kiddin . So far the plants seem to love the storm theory:D

ggod luck on that and i am sorry to mest your thread but i wanted to let know sticky bud sorry and peace out

its cool . PATAS , no sweat . WELL i guess the theory above would only work if you have multiple lighting like i do , if you just have one light hung above then turning this off would set your plants back i would think .

i dig this theory but would like to see what people like " HICK " and other longtime growers for instance would think . seeing as how i'm a rookie any positive reinforcement is a good thing !!!!!! all opinions are very welcome . PEACE:D

Im sure that would help, but I dont personaly think it would be much different than just havin a fan runnin on them constantly.

Turning off lights is dumb... fans on wide open is smart... foliar feeding (if u know what ur doing) is smart.

I AM NOT TURNING OFF THE LIGHTS !!! just 2 cfl's on top the sides are still on cab. is open a lil and lights on in room , more than enough light .again just a " theory " and from a newbie stoner no less , hahaha

PEACE

hey my friend just go on with your projet and let us know how is doing peace out

haha i know man!

I agree with jbong don't turn the lights off and keep the fan on in my opinion I would not take a chance on ruining my crop for some theory if you have the space, time and means to do it i guess but for what reason? to strengthen your plants just use a fan why would you want them in a storm? just put them outside and wait for the disaster to happen. I would never do something like what your proposing. Since you say your new at this whole thing why don't you try to grow a normal crop and get some experience under your belt first.

Trust me this is not RUINING my crop , just look at the pics on my journal . I AM NOT TURNING OFF ALL THE LIGHTS !!! Its just a stoner theory and i'm growing more than one group of plants , this is for the experimental group and if you dont try new things how do you learn .I CANT PUT THEM OUTSIDE , i live in a housing plan . I'm just trying to recreate a bit of mothernature inside , mainly for the purpose of foliar feeding . To totaly dismiss this without knowing all the facts is a little closeminded GREENERWORLD . Tho i am a rookie i am not an ***** .i am just putting it out there to see what other people think . alll opinions are welcome tho and THANKS FOR THE REPLIES !!!

PEACE:D

dude you should stick w/ it its a great theory! i actually want to try it, keep it going man.peace.:aok:

Theories based on some knowledge is fine -- that's how we learn about new techniques. The biggest problem I see with this theory, however, is that -- even under the best of conditions for indoor grows and even with plenty of HID lighting -- lumens are ALREADY less than an overcast or cloudy day. So the lumens you can get to your plants with ALL of your HID lights on are less than the lumens they would receive on just a normal, partly cloudy day outside. So, ANY reduction in lighting seems to be a bad choice to me. And if you continue this while your plants are in flower, be careful of foliar feeding. This can lead to mold and it can also result in an unpleasant residue on plants that you end up smoking because it is difficult to wash off. Plain water might be OK, but then you raise humidity and you normally want low humidity for plants in flower. As for the fan, my sense is that most experienced growers have one of those going all the time anyway.
