Stright up. I have my OMMP card and I grow and intake the best of meds (Marijuana), but they do not releave me of my pain unless I help with pain pills. Only way pain is gone is laying down with all meds.
The other day friend down at our local cannabis clinic the man who runs the place got kind of down on me for using pain pills. Swears that herb can and will work same as "opiates". I have to call **, but if anyone has a resipe that works to take away lower back pain., I'ed love to give it a try. For sure. What a blessing that would be. Seems that pain is getting worse alot faster now days and going to hip and L knee. It realy sucks not to walk without pain. Next, i won't walk..na, I'll hop.
This is going to be great thread i hope.

For me the paim pills are for when the mj just can't take my mind off the pain. IME pain pills are not relaced and won't replace the pain pills.

MMJ doesn't work the same way as opiates, where mmj makes the pain more easily tolerable to the point that it can be ignored, opiates make the pain dissapear. For me, having used opiates to control pain for many years, it took some time to adjust to the change. I still use opiates to control the pain in times where it is just impossible to smoke. I'm also still working on my bodys addictive reliance to the meds and have to take a minimum amount to relieve it but is getting to be less of a need as time goes on. Switching from opiates to mmj takes time and should be done under the care of a doctor. Unfortunately, most doctors aren't familiar with the workings of mmj because of the restrictions that have been placed on it.

MJ is not as strong as getting rid of pain as opiates in painkillers. But marijuana had been known to help with anxiety issues all the way down to limiting seizures so it has so many uses. Pills are man made poison anyway bad for the liver and bad for your overall health!

The sickness I feel when taking the pills is far worse than the amount of pain I can still feel when smoking MMJ, to me it's a good trade-off to have a manageable pain than to be sick to my stomach all the time. This has been my experience with my lower back pain which should have been operated on years ago (I refuse until I can no longer walk, or they make serious advances in back surgery).

Simple fact is MMJ is not a wonder drug, it works for some, but not for others, it works for some problems, but not others.

I know a few people in bad pain that smoke because they smoke, it does nothing for their pain.

I personally kicked a one day Vicodin addiction. I know it doesn't seem like much til you try to go off them. Cannabis helped immensely. I agree with dman that it doesn't work for everything, but i also was able to use it instead of pain pills for a torn meniscus and a disc problem. I was stoned for 4 months, by you guys didn't seem to mind, ha.
