hey ya all,mag. deficiancy is what im thinkin. found algae in rez overnight,changed it out(along w/cleanin all 5% bleach) that was yesterday. so nw i guess i gotta do epsom salts...1tsp-gal. is that right? is this even the problem? just listed everything in my rez in my journal.your help is appreciated more than i could tell ya!

Not sure. I thought necrosis from over nitrogen but its in the middel of the leaf. I searched around my PC and found this in a file I had relating to a calcium defiency which kind of looks like your issue but them again so does magnesium. Wish I had more photo examples for these problems.
If you held a gun to my head I would have treat for both but your probably right. I hope you can relate back what the problem was when you fix it.

Great link Wise Man! Nothing like pictures to say a 1000 words. I saw a picture at the link you listed and it shows boron (trace element).
From what I saw there are many conditions which look alike but all where only on the edge of the leaves. Boron seems to jive with what I saw in lyfr pcitures; only the center most part of the leaf was effected first.
Maybe some kelp for soil or trace element treatment is in order?

itest it daily...i use the color code thing,and its between 5.7ish to 6 which is what i hear hydro should be. it did climb to 7-8 overnighyt...thats when i found tha algae.its now been 3 days and no more algae so i think i beat that one.i noticed the leaves a couple days before algae was visible...so im thinkin its related. hopefully the last rez change will stop the problem.
well, their worse today, i checked all the threads,wisemans link,books everything i can think of and i sorta looks like a few things.i dont really want to dump a bunch/spray a bunch of crap on them and hope i guessed right.so i guess ill just keep things clean,tested,keep the nutes fresh and watch them die a slow death!never had a problem before...same nutes/same set-up,this *****! think ill go back to bein a drunk
