Whats the best light cycle for LR2? I was thinking going with 24/0 but i'm unsure if they need a rest period or not.

IMO, plants need a rest... it's natural... the only places on earth that receive 24hrs of light are too cold to grow anything like MJ there naturally, so....

I believe I read that LR2 needs 18/6 but I could be mistaken. Hopefully someone that has grown it will chime in.

I just finished a lr2 grow and this was a ? I had also.It was deterimed that a 18/6 schedule is best. The plant needs darkness to build those buds. This plant autoflowers in about 3 weeks so you can tell sex easy. HID lites are great for this plant.

see the different schedules we all came up with. To come clean about my lr2 grow it is amazing that I didn't have hermi's because I know they were lite stressed. I actually started on 24/7 then went to 18/6 because the plants just need the dark. I think my next lr2 will be 24/7 until just after they flower then 18/6. The almost dried weed is from my lr2's. I am so/so happy with the yield. Threw in a sideways(?) pic of some home protection.

I went 18/6 with all my plants until i started flowering.
So now my my flower room is at 12/12 and i started a veg room
at 24/0. i got current lr2's in 24/hrs and as soon as they show sex they will
be going in 12/12 . im sure you already know this link but here go you

I actually just target shoot and I hope to do some competition shooting later this year. Our lite cycles are almost identical. I go with 18/6 and you go with 12/12. You are absolutely right that it is situation dependant. I have snow whites and afghani's to get through before my next lr2's and I will be experementing(sp).

ya thats were i got my lr2 seeds from dope seeds.com i also mad a nother post on strains. about the AK 47 lowryder strain i found cool stuff you should check it out they got decent prices too.

The yield is oh so less, when put on 12/12. I had a 15g LR because of that. The more light, the better with LR's. Joint Doctor's Grow Guide I have also recomends 18/6 the whole time. It does say though, after a month you can drop down to 16/8 without a loss of yield, to save on elect bill. I'd rather take my chances at 18/6 because the guide also states you can grow them under continuous 24/7 light cycle as well! Sounds like, the more light the larger the yield. I don't want to take a chance of having a small yield.
For a better chance of females, I've read they like a "dark" period. Don't Quote me on that though.
