lights for side growth

Hey guys, I have a 400w mh and was thinking of adding some cfls in the clamp type reflectors. 2 lights with y's so 4 26 watt 6500k bulbs. 4 bulbs is 6400 lumens, Would this help for side growth? It costs 35 bucks, Would it be worth it? My space is 3'6"x3'6" by 6'. Thanks

I cant hurt....I wouls say it would help a little bit

Heat would be the issue though

Flourescents have very little penetration. In order to be beneficial. they need to be less than 6 inches of the plants.

I have mine set-up that way, you can kinda seethem in the last pics in my gj. They have helped, i have noticed the lower parts have bulked up a bit since i added them.
