Light venting question ...

I'm thinking of getting 2 250W HPS to replace my 430W HPS due to cost of replacement lamps ... my current 430W has a reflector that is air cooled with glass ... I was planning to use that with one of the 250W lamps and purchase a 250W system with one ... the question is ... a device where I can connect the two hoses into the light into an adaptor with two outlets on one side and one on the other ... is there something like that so I can have one vent hose coming from the closet?

Yes it is called a pants connector. You can purchase them at any heating and air conditioning supplier.

IMO, this is not a really good idea. I would think that you could buy a lot of 400W bulbs for what it will cost you to buy 2 new 250W set-ups. You also have to buy bulbs so seldom that I cannot imagine it being a huge expense. The 250W just does not spread the light nearly as far or as well as a 400W.

If your dead set on this new setup, I would run the lights in parallel. Filter, light one, light 2, fan, and then the F*&^ out of there.

The reason I wanted to switch was because of the cost of new bulbs ... 430 bulbs are way more expensive than the 250 ... some stores don't carry them ... and don't you have to change the bulb after so many hours?
