I know you're supposed to pick off yellow dead / dying leaves, but what exactly does yellow mean? Over feed? Not enough water?

Also what do brown and/or white spots mean on leaves?

And say half the leaf is yellow with brown spots and the other half is slightly yellow green should I just pick the bad off of the leaf off? How yellow should a leaf be before I pick it off?

I noticed the really yellow ones come right off with no problem, but if they are a bit greener they are harder to pick off.

I let em shrivel up. I don't "pull" on em. just leaves a spot for the plant to heal.
Yellow leaves can mean a bunch of things. Under fert, over fert, Underwatering, Overwatering, Rootbound, PH Problems.
Can you post a pic?

yeah I picked off all the leaves and was going to grind them up for hash... let me get some pics on here?

Now are you saying don't pull the stem of the leaf, just pick the leaves off of that steam?... Will they grow back and am I preventing this by taking the whole steam off?

I agree with Mutt. If I can't dislodge the leaf with a tap to the underside of the leaf, I leave it alone.

When it falls off after a slight tap, then I add it to my "Oil" pile.

I attached pictures

Heres 3 random leaves I pulled... I pulled about 15 leaves from 4 plants. There were a few slightly greenish yellow ones but I left those. 95% of the other leaves on all the plants looked 100% normally healthy...

I also noticed almost half of the leaves I pulled were right around where the bud was growing.

That can be so many things as long as the bud looks good then leaves sometimes just die. I wouldn't worry. GL man

Late in flower it is very normal for the plant to start it's "dying" process. How long has it been flowering?

If there is yellowing on the bottom leave could it mean that it's not getting enough light down there. I've gained a whole new perspective on the females, when compared to a Human female those pistils are WHAAATTT!!!!

P.S. Hey SmokingMom will you move those Jack-o-Lanterns for a sec I need to check something, LOL:laugh:

I'm only kidding ....

It's been flowering for anywhere from 36 - 41 days, it is in a prime light location but it has been awfully cloudy lately.

Actually 2 have been flowering for that long...

One plant was a late bloomer only about 20 - 25 days into the flower, but it also had the yellow leaves. This plant grew about 2 feet in 5 days then another foot in another 5 days. It is 7 feet tall and I tied it down to keep it from being noticed. It just started to really get gains on the buds but I think the cold weather may ruin it...

Oh crap...sorry man, just realized your outdoor.
You (depending on strain and location on earth) should be getting very close to harvest. Have you been checking the trichomes with a microscope or jewelers loupe?
would be checking pretty close. Most OD growers have harvested or are getting ready to.

Yeah Halloween is my target... It'll nullify the suspicion of running around with a garbage bag over my shoulder.

I've seen some progress in the first 2 plants that have flowered, but there has been huge progress in the late bloomer, which is why I'm hestant to pull them just yet. But it is starting to get a bit colder after a beatiful first 9 days of October...

The leaf discoloration is that something to worry about? It just started happening with in the last 2 weeks, otherwise they were very healthy the whole time.

that happens. IMHO, you're fine. Good luck with the weather..;)

Mine are in indoor and a week or two from finishing, and they are starting to get alot of yellowing and brown crispy leaves too. I think they are just ending there cycle.

If they're only 25 days flowering, they aren't ready yet. Mine took 70 days and the trichomes were still clear and cloudy. I had to cut it early because it was getting aphids and spider mites. Those cause speckles and spots on the leaves too.
