Good morning, insomniac Misfits! Woke up about an hour ago with pain in my hips. Now waiting for the doors to unlock so I can get a "fresh air break" (AKA - smoke a cig). The main entrance doors lock at 9 pm, and unlock at 5 am. So, only about an hour to go until I can puff

Mostly cloudy here today, starting at 34F and predicted to reach 43F.

I turned the sprinklers and outside water off yesterday and drained the lines given how close it is getting to freezing in the morning.

The !@#$%^&*()_+_)(*&^%$#@! who sets off loud fireworks at midnight is back and after I got Miss Layla calmed back down, they did it again at midnight thirty. Would love to lay hands on them to express my appreciation.....

Gym this morning, followed by our first dawg walk and then breakfast at the Cadilliac Cafe with Grayfox and NM.

Good morning Misfits!... Today's high is headed for a balmy 29F, tonight's low is scheduled to get down to 21. Currently 26F in the jungles of the nanny state of Illinois. Free coffee and pinch hitters if you can find me. I'll try and stay buzzed up for babysitting duty until 4pm. There is a slight chance I can get out of it by picking up a load of tile for my sister-in-law. She takes the kids. We have a late teen who will be last one out of the house, soon... I have a program that I can calculate the months until she will be asked to leave... and a couple of foster kids. AND I really did just right now get finished closing the pool. That job was a little frosty needless to say.

Just had some breakfast - scrambled eggs, an English muffin and some grapes. I don't have much of an appetite, I guess all of the worrying has me messed up. She is showing improvements, it's just going to take time
Did they figure out what is causing her heart failure?

Did they figure out what is causing her heart failure?
One of the nurses read some notes in the computer and said she has pneumonia, which created fluids on her lungs and heart. She is on antibiotics and her white blood cell count is getting better. And, one of the new cardiac medicines caused her blood pressure to drop way low last night. Looks like it's gonna be a long, slow recovery process

So she doesn't have heart failure. It was the pneumonia that caused the problem?
Or the heart failure caused the fluid to build up in her lungs and caused the Pneumonia?
Hope she gets to feeling better soon.
You know, it's not really clear what caused what. She has several things going on, including her diabetes. Pneumonia, heart failure - I think they are still trying to figure out exactly what happened. I will update when I learn anything new. Thank you for the well wishes!

Remembering when I was in first grade and went to a two-room country school. Grades 1-4 in one room, grades 5-8 in the other. When I was done with my lessons, I would listen to what was being taught in grades 2-4. They closed the school after I attended that one year, but I learned more in that year than I did for the rest of grade school.

No problem brother. Just curious on how it happened. Normally heart failure is a progressive disease and the doctors pick up on it before it gets to that bad.
Yeah, I wish I had a better understanding of what happened. And I wonder if they really know. It is very stressful trying to figure it out, trying to learn about her new medications and keeping a watchful eye on all of it. I have been praying ceaselessly, and I try to make her as comfortable as possible. She is sleeping right now, so I am going to get something to eat from the cafeteria
