Bitten on left pinky by a Brown Recluse spider yesterday... had a giant blister within minutes and google says it's the Recluse.. never seen it, but pinky is sore to bend.. of course, I did what I wasn't supposed to and drained the blister, washed it good and dripped Iodine into the blister 3x's.. washed it again, covered in Triple Antibiotic ointment and covered.. ugh. today no additional redness around the blister.. like a Black Widow would do.. Keeping an eye on it, taking the night off...
I wouldn't take that lightly brother and would see a doctor immediately if not sooner. The venom is necrotic and can rot flesh. One of my diabetic relatives almost lost a leg to a Brown Recluse.

Good morning brothers and sisters!

Yet another gorgeous day in Paradise here today, starting at 56F and predicted to reach 84F.

I replaced the broken motion activated light on the front of our house yesterday and our landscaper weeded and put down bark dust, so the place is looking pretty good.

My daughter got me a vertical hydroponic garden setup and a box of cookies for Father’s Day, which all arrived yesterday. I assembled it and now need to figure out where to put it and what to plant in it.

An empty calendar today, but I need to drop a box of treasures by Goodwill and I want to modify the courtyard watering system to add a sprinkle hose to the new herb garden, in addition to the current soak system. The existing hose is at the opposite end of the courtyard, which requires threading it around some of the pots of flowers that Grayfox has going.

Good morning

off to the Senior Center for some biscuits and gravy and then it is plumbing time

gonna hook up a sink , simple job , pex and some shark bites should do it…..2 hour job at the most , 4 hour minimum at $200 dollars an hour ought to take care of it..🤪

Carty ya better get to a doctor brother. If that was a Brown Recluse your going to need antibiotics for sure.
MRSA!! @Carty <-- Pay attention, lad. Methicillin-Resistant Staphylococcus Aureus

I hadda get quarts (TINS!!) of stuff pumped into my heart for weeks becuz of a Brown Recluse bite. The real **** hits about ten days after you've been bitten.

Do NOT think you have solved your problem. You have not, if it is a Brown Recluse.

Question: Are you dead certain sure (not just think, but KNOW) it was a Brown Recluse? A lotsa folks think they've been hit by one, but were bitten by something else.

Go here to read up on what to do: Brown Recluse Spider Toxicity - StatPearls - NCBI Bookshelf

NOTE TO WORLD: The Brown Recluse has a violin on its back near its head.

And Walt is correct. I thought i had a spider bite on my elbow,,but it wasn't,, it turned out to be a staph infection. Made me sick as hell.
And be careful because if it is MRSA the drainage can cause infection to you and other ppl with a cut or scratch that it touches from whatever you using or touching.

Staph skin infections, including MRSA, generally start as swollen, painful red bumps that might look like pimples or spider bites. The affected area might be:

  • Warm to the touch
  • Full of pus or other drainage
  • Accompanied by a fever
These red bumps can quickly turn into deep, painful boils (abscesses) that require surgical draining. Sometimes the bacteria remain confined to the skin. But they can also burrow deep into the body, causing potentially life-threatening infections in bones, joints, surgical wounds, the bloodstream, heart valves and lungs.

Yep. Folks around here call 'em fiddlerbacks. They love to hide in wood piles. My buddy's wife, the one that lost her pinky up to the first knuckle, was cleaning up an old firewood pile that the last owners of the house had left when she got bit.
