Good morning everyone and hugz all around!
More rain here, starting at 36F.
My old friend in hospice is still hanging in there, though he remains unconscious under heavy sedation and is periodically crying out. Hard to watch, especially knowing that he had planned a death with dignity once he reached this stage but reached it suddenly and unexpectedly before he had a chance to arrange it.
Alas I apparently lost my mind and after about 12 years tending my Lophophora Williamsii, I forgot to stop watering it during the winter months, so developed some root rot. I cut away the obviously dying part and harvested the original cactus and her larger pups, before replanting the remaining pups in new soil. If they continue to decline, I'll trim again and try washing the roots in hydrogen peroxide before replanting again.
I'm heart broken and feeling like a stupid ***, but always looking to make lemonade when drawing lemons, plus not one to waste golden opportunities, I peeled, dewatered, dried, and put the harvested material in caps, which I started titrating yesterday. Back on the onerous task again today...................
Hippy was right about it no longer being an emetic with the peel removed.
