Is there a reason for the lack of information??

  Why (if anyone knows) do houses rate breakers by amps but most electrical items in that house dont show the amp ratings???? They show something that needs to be converted! Shouldnt it just be standard to include the amp rating??!!

  Isnt that like posting a speed limit sign and than only giving a car a tacomiter???

its so you have to call people like me...electrician,,,,most household electrical items tell you watts....a 100 watt bulb pulls .83 amps......the reason for amps is due to what a wire can handle......#12 can handle 20 amps with no threat of insulation melting from heat and causing a short and fire.......you put to many amps on a wire and you looking for bad trouble.......the circuit breaker is designed to protect the wire hooked to it....so if a 20 amp breakers keeps triping and you put in a 30 or 40 amp breaker your are looking to burn your place down.......the wire will get hot and helt.....always size your wire to your load and size your breaker to your wire.....

also race car drivers dont have speedometers...they can tell their speed from their tach........so can I.......but anyway ..if your gonna build a grow room...make sure you know what your doing with the electrical part....a house in georgia got busted when a grow room caugt fire from overloaded circuit and the fireman called the police......buy a few good books from home depote on electrical do it your self and also find you a electricians hand book called The Ugly Book...and read both...you then should be ok

That makes electrical work sound so much simpler!

electical work is not that hard my brother is a plumber and hes got his plumning licence and his electrician licence and i work with him sometimes and he is really good at it and its not that hard is you know what your doing
duh their are some stupid people out their and yeah my dad used to race nitro bikes just had a tach on it and he could tell how fast he was going and
their is only a tach is his 68 Mustang too that car is so bad

 That my point see!! Why add the step unless you CHOOSE to add it. I had 95 firebird formula and it was raced hard and put away leaking oil. It had only a tach in it and the owner before me could tell you the mph and mpg usage by a glance at the tach. He chose that and if he was wrong well he got a ticket. If your wrong in calculating amps well, thats a little more severe than a ticket, its a house fire. It makes absolute sence for the USA and Canada to make it law that all electrical items show amps and kwh rate on a plate fascened to the item or engraved so it dont ware off. If your thinking thats a little much, well take a look at your pepsi can. there is directions on it on how to open it. Mcdonalds are required to tell you that coffe is "hot"...these are a "little much". putting ALL the information on an electical item just makes sence. Ok...I'll get off the soap box and go smoke a bowl.

if you have an old house with fuses..never..I mean never ever place a penny on the bottom of a blown fuse to get that circuit hot again because you dont have a spare fuse or yur tired of it blowing...fuses blow for a reason and breakers trip for a reason...bypassing this will result in fires and could result in life being lost...nothing like touching an applience and not being able to let go because of being shocked..........due to breaker not triping or fuse not blowing.......I work with voltages up to 13,800 vac...only been shocked by one leg of 480 which is 277 volts...anything highier than that is not forgiving and usualy dont let you make that mistake twice...I seen a guy who had his foot blown off from getting into 4160 volts....went into his arm and came out his foot...blowing it off his leg..........yes he is alive........he was lucky

also I if your doing your own electrical work, always be sure you use a ground wire in your circuit.....this will help to keep you from being shocked due to something shorting out and will also help to trip the breaker if there is a short in the circuit or apliance...always use a 3 prong plug or one that has only 2 prongs be sure that one prong is bigger than the other....always hook the white wire to the larger prong........this is the neautral wire....most new plugs have screws of different color...green is for ground wire....silver is for neutral wire (white) and the copper or brass colored one is for the hot wire (usualy black or red but could be another color) oulets are the same...electrical may seem easy...and usualy is straight forward when installing circuits...trouble shooting devices is another thing........many others thought the same thing about it being easy...lots of them are in graves now......remember mistakes with electrical usualy dont give you another chance to make a mistake...most people killed by electricity are killed by 120 volts...why..because those people were not electricians and usualy were trying to wire or fix something in their own house and thought they could save some money...remember if you screw up in plumbing you get leaks or worst case you get flooded...you screw up with electrical...you can get a sever shock causing damage to your internal organs...worst case..it will kill you!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!........
