I wouldn't react with revenge in my heart if I were you. My experience has been that following that path usually backfires and ends up a worse predicament than it began as. I would probably take a plant or two (more than what you lost last year, maybe twice as much) and send the message "Hey Jack, I found your stuff and could've taken it all" This is how I would proceed if I ABSOLUTELY knew these plants were from the guilty party. It would also send the message to him "better conceal these better next time."

Consider this:
YOU might not be the kind of person that will break into someone's house and steal their pot (or at least, you were'nt), but he obviously is. That has some other considerations to it. He stole only a few ounces from you, but it still shows his character. Stealing is a crime, no matter what is being stolen (even what was stolen was a crime itself). That makes him a CRIMINAL... criminals are dangerous people.
His grow is 10lbs... I would say that he'd be looking for a little revenge of his own for that amount. I know I would be walking the streets with a gun and looking for the jerk that stole my stuff it someone took 10lbs from me. IF HE KNOWS WHERE YOU LIVE THEN HE KNOWS WHERE TO FIND YOU... consider that point.
Also, consider the fact that you will be no better than he is. Being a human being doesn't always mean that you think before you act. Human beings are impulsive and driven to hurt those that hurt them by nature. That's fine, to a point. Don't get yourself into something you might not want to follow through with. If this guy comes charging through your door at 3 am to get his "revenge" will you be willing to take care of it when he invades your home? And then will you be willing to move EVERYTHING out of the house when you call the cops and have to explain to them why he was in your house and is now lying in your front door in a pool of blood? I know that that is definitely something I would not get my hands dirty with.
There is more to take into consideration here than just the fact that you want what you think is due to you. And I don't disagree that he did you wrong, but if you MUST do it, don't take the whole grow for God's sake! Take what he took from you and leave it alone. Get yours back and then worry about the rest when and if it comes up.
I used to run with some tough crowds. A friend of mine, not that long ago, was a BIG fish in the cocaine world. Someone cut through his wall and stole 7 kilos from him. I won't tell you what happened to the guy who stole it, but let's say that my friend is now serving a life sentence without the possibility of parole. Things that you don't expect to happen happen. No matter how well thought out your revenge may be, his may be bigger and better. Don't let your ego and bruised feelings get in the way.
Also, I would have to agree with Rasta that revenge is best left to God. Though I'm not a Christian (or even close to it) I would say that it should be left to a higher power, or to Karma. Sometimes you have to give Karma a jump start, but don't do it like that!

Jash, I think that is a BAD idea. Calling the cops... when you are a grower a yourself? Screw Karma or payback or whatever you wanna call it, that's hypocritical and LOW.
Besides that, you bring more Karma on yourself that way too. Think about it. A 10lb crop probably means that his plants are huge. Cops weigh the WHOLE plant. The thing I would like to know is if he knows it was your crop. If so, I would have went to his house last year when I knew he was good and high, knocked on the door and when he answered just cracked his head.
You took them...lol. I wouldn't feel bad AT ALL. All the things people are saying you should watch for, he didn't. What if you would have called the cops on him or been a drug dealer. I don't condone just going out stealing and I treat people very well, how I would want to be treated but I am a firm believer in an eye for an eye. Do something to me and I better never get the chance to return the favor because i'll serve that dish on ice but thats just me. If you want to leave it up to "karma" everytime someone screws you thats your business. If you want to screw them back thats also your business and just that.

Can you prove, or positively know that he maliciously interefered with your grow previously? I'd hate for you to take vindictive action, only to later find out that you yourself were previously in error.
On the other hand- it's 10lbs you say? Hrm. I would yank all the plants but 1. Leaving 1 to prove a point. It would be more of an insult and kind of a warning, if you will, to leave beind maybe a week or 3 of personal smoke. And outwardly it appears like your almost have a heart!
But what do I know. I know nothing of your friendship, circumstances, or how ya really feel about it. My gut says to yank it. You can't **** over your friends for too long, or consequences tend to happen. Surely you'll know this will come back to you- So I guess it's a matter of wanting to deal with the backlash that will probably happen.

Also, if your harvest is yielding 10lbs, that means you put a lot of WORK into it. That alone is worth taking out a knee cap.

I mean, violence does get violence, but for 10lbs of weed a lot of people will resort to violence... and my point was that even though I am telling him not to do it, the guy might not be so lenient on letting him get away with it if he does. Like I said, it is human nature, and I am no exception to it, thus my comment on going and looking for the guy.

1. LEO

3. Environment.
All but one (LEO) has gotten a plant from me more than once. It's part of the game. If it's in your backyard one thing...but out there in the wilds...we all know it "can" happen. When a person guerrilla grows they should be aware and prepared for all three. If it happens I guess learn from the mistke...it got ripped....learn instead of revenge...what "could" have I done different.....what could have I done to not have been found?
