As the title says ive been doing some reading on breeding, and i want to be sure im understanding what all ive read. Now im thinking of first off breeding my Satori and THxS1 that i got from seedsboutique, seperately to produce more seeds. Say that i get a male and a female from both strains and let them pollinate its opposite of the same strain, now once the seeded female is harvest ready those seeds it would produce will be vialble in about a month, correct. Now if i was to take say the male Satori and cross it with the THxS1 or vice versa, what i need to do is take the seeds that it produces and grow them to cross it back aginst the one or the other in this instance id take the seed i got from the SxTHxS1 and get a male and mix it back to the female of the THxS1. to make the new strain solid and vice versa. I think i have confused myself enough for now, because its not making any sence again.....HELP

Biology Basics is a good starting point,
Draw the picture out yourself, it's not hard. try this one it might help you.

1. White mouse
add
1. Black mouse

What are the future possibilities ?
1. A solid litter of white mice
or
2. A solid litter of black mice
or
any combination ?

Any of the three has the potential to occur.
There is also an area where you can do this and produce shading of colors, such as varying shades of gray.
In engineering remember that you must control the varables

Draw it out in a small notebook, and keep tight control, tell no-one and then be patient. Please do keep us up to date if you can.

don't feel bad, man... you confused me too!

dubb... "SELECTION, SELECTION, SELECTION,,,"...

is that anything like starting a business its all location location location :hubba: yeah i see it as this the ones that look the best in appearance and aroma are probably my best candidates. I'm also going to be :watchplant: for things like main stem diameter strength rate of growth etc... Does that sound about right?

Male selection is just as important.
Late flowering males is what you want. Every male I had stunk to high heaven so I would not know even where to start with the "aroma" of a male.
Also read an article way back saying how the breeders will "smoke" the leaf of a male for flavor and things (not to get high) to help with the selection.

Overall health and vigor is important as well.

P-square..
and HERE are some Q/A that might help explain the variabilities and possibilities..

"Great" explanation, BUT.. the recessive, unknown, un-exhibited traits, are IMHO, where the whole thing goes astray.
What if 'white' mouse had a great grandfather that was brown? .. suddenly you've quadrupeled the chances of variation.
IMHO, there in lies the difficulty of producing stable, true breeding, MJ. The gene pool is a huge puddle of crosses and hybrids. Very few, if any "pure" strains are around to work with.
But it's a great project, a learning experience, and could well produce an exceptional pheno or two, in your adventure. best o luck...

Thanks tons for that here link it did help out allot for what i was thinking and now i feel i have a good starting understanding. the other one though said i didnt have access to the server so it didnt work. again thanks tons for that, went to boost that rep up a bit and it ssays i gave out too much but no worries for a post like this ill get it to you HUGE help.

dubb'.. the two links are from the same server/site. If you can access one, the other page is linked to it. Try ckicking the links at the bottom of that page.."The Mendel Page", Punnet Square Practice problems", "Incomplete and Co-Dominance" ..or at the beginning, "Lubeys Biolo Help"
