i just picked up a nice CFL style floro bulb. Brand is "Regent" - uses 65 watts and puts out 6,800+ lumens!!

problem is, my regular light sockets wont start it, it needs a fixture or something?

so i found the fixture the bulb really belongs too -- its this one

BUT i can buy / order my own ballast n what not i just am not sure what i need - do i need a special mogul socket as well? so i need a capacitor/ignitor or would that be in the ballast i buy?

i was wondering if THIS one would work:

or would i need other parts as well??

THanks for the help fellas :)

wow i didnt know you needed a ballast for such a small bulb. I have a couple floros and i think they are like 48watt bulbs or something like that and they work pretty good for me. I use two of those lights for veg and then put them under the hps for flower. How many plants are you growin and what strain are they?

I wouldn't think you need a ballast for that bulb. I have a 200 watt cfl that just plugs right into the wall.

All flouro's need a ballast. Most CFL's have the ballast built into them.

ok... the ballast is already in the bulb. you just need a mogal socket lamp holder. ask for a mogal socket lamp holder at your friendly neighborhood hardware store or electrical supplier.

i already bought the bulb once, didnt work -- i had to buy the fixture and gutt it for the hardware -- now it works :)
